Israeli military most powerful in Middle East, says study

.
Bad list. Anyone with keen sense of military history (yours truly among them) knows the following

1. Israel and Turkey (Turkey does have slight edge due to numbers but less combat experience)
2. Egypt
3. iran
4. All GCC combined. (no need to list KSA separate from UAE and other little boy states)

No Jordan doesn't even come close in this list, Syria is a joke, and rest of them are not even born militarily speaking.

There you have it.

An honest and religiously unbiased ranking from a Pakistani.

Peace to Ya'all

Iran????

They don't have an Air Force and their Navy is a joke. Just because they have a massive standing army does it give them any decent advantage over countries such as Israel who has an excellent Air Force and decent Navy?

.
And I am willing to bet everything I own that I understand history a whole lot better than you do. You clearly don't have the knowledge or the capability to engage me in a constructive debate, so I am going to end this conversation, good bye.

Good bye?

Brother so soon?

So obviously you don't want to bet everything you own. Obviously.

you got a point there bro.

you got one.

Actually if we use your criteria about "complete package", then this thread should have only two or may be three. Israel, Turkey and Egypt.

That's all.

Jerusalem: Israel`s military is the most powerful in the Middle East, media reported quoting a study commissioned by Business Insider.

The New York-based business and technology news website ranked the 15 strongest armies in the Middle East based on independent research of their operational capabilities and hardware, and interviews with experts, Xinhua reported.

The study revealed Tuesday underscored the impact the tumultuous geo-political reality in the region has on countries` military prowess, most notably the civil war in Syria, the struggle for power between Sunni forces led by Saudi Arabia and Shia powers led by Iran, and the social upheavals in Arab capitals in recent years.

"Israel has space assets, advanced fighter jets, high-tech armed drones, and nuclear weapons... Israel also has one of the region`s most battle-ready armies, a force that has fought in four major engagements since 2006 and has experience securing a few of the most problematic borders on earth," according to the study`s authors.

They noted that while the ranking does not take into account foreign powers` support, Israel`s close military ties with the US and an `energetic` local defence industry give it "a qualitative edge over all of the regions other militaries".

Israel`s air force, long revered for its track record in previous wars fought on multiple fronts, has "incredibly high entry and training standards," the study read.

Turkey and Saudi Arabia were ranked the second and third most powerful militaries in the region, respectively, followed by the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen.

Well yes but soon with addition off Submarines and more Frigates in Saudi Force and better training along with more Fighter jets in Air Force and also if Egypt upgrades all its F-16 to Block 52 and get few hundred BVR Missiles along with warships and submarines both can out class Israel

Turkey will have 100 F-35's with option to more, whos your daddy? :D

This is hilarious coming from a Indian. :)
so u comparing india with turkey then I will say india is u r daddy

Nope.

Tell me something about indigenous defense system apart from some artillery guns.
What exactly do you wanna hear, whose indigenous systems? You are the one whos claiming Israel has a pretty decent indigenous defense base so you are the one who should explain what you mean.

Well said bro.

The only exception to my comment?

When you say about Muj. Sir Ji, Muj are no match for IDF in open warfare. Hiding behind women and children and lobbing rockets should not even be considered in a thread like this.

That's like talking about Hijras in a discussion about warriors.

You mean the warriors that bomb UN marked shelters from their Jet Fighters or those who raze civilian structures from within their Tanks or those who demolish electric and water utilities from their Gunship Helos or those who open indiscriminate fire on unarmed peaceful protesters or perhaps you mean those warriors who use extreme war machines, supplied by the west, to continually occupy more land illegally every 6 months?

Hmmm, warriors alright.

True dat!

Urban warfare is a beeeaaach.

Hummus should avoid launching fire-toys from urban areas.

Otherwise we'll continue having this sad discussion over and over and over and over (did I say over and over?).

Israel is extremely overrated, not that I disagree with that, as overrating an enemy is less dangerous than underrating them. But Israel simply can not sustain an operation for longer than 1 months without facing massive problems, the Israeli commanders know that hence why they always plan to end any war they get into quickly, they lack all manner of strategic depth, and in 20 days of fighting in Gaza, Israel started running out of ammunition, which says volumes about Israel's ability to sustain long operations.

Also another thing to note is Israel is consistently struggling in financing a military greater than its budget, and budget cuts force them to make a lot of compromises, something other states in the region does not have a problem at.

If you disagree with me please feel free to state why because I would love to debate this further, and if I was proven wrong all the better so as to better educate myself on the subject, but I just don't buy Israeli superpowers syndrome.

A nuclear country, that also has the ability to deliver nuclear warheads and has massive diplomatic backing, is a super power to all non-nuclear countries, simple.

KSA ground forces a big joke. They can't stand in front of ISIS the rag tags.

Let alone a modern European style army.

Zarban bhai,

Please quit living in Talbian world.

Thank you.

you put horse before the cart. bro.

Israel has strong enough conventional forces to beat the cr@p out of its opponents.

So nuke trump card should not be discussed in this thread.

Can you compare Israel's Tank to anything indigenous from Turkey ??

Can you compare Israel's drones to anything you have developed at home ??

Can you compare their point defence systems like Iron Dome to anything Turkey produces indigenously ??

Can you compare their Radars with made in Turkey radars ??

These are only few examples in which you stands no where close to Israel if you compare it with your indigenous defense base.
