Focus now should be on pushing Pakistan's maritime strength to Southern Arabia and to East Africa.

Neela Watan.

I hope we can establish a base in Somalia as well.

China has already quietly connected Gwadar with it's base in Djibouti via under-sea fiber-optic cables.

Strategically speaking Oman is the biggest concern as it provides Indian Navy the depth it needs and a larger cost line. If I’m not mistake Oman had some sort of deal with IN for resupply and a listening post several years back. UAE is just a little bonner in the region besides it’s black gold economy it will have nothing to offer. The Pakistani leadership failed in contacting Oman when this deal was going through; so get the Chiefs to reign in Oman.

Oman is very skittish about Pakistan, on the one hand they gave up Gwadar to Pakistan in 1947 after Quaid e Azam sent them a message on what to do with it. Next, Oman has a very large Baloch population (they had been importing Baloch soldiers for their defense in the past.)

I have met some of these Baloch, and they are thoroughly brainwashed against Pakistan. Most likely this is Oman's role in keeping them unaware to their closeness to Pakistan. Oman is very frightened of the prospect of Omani Baloch becoming influenced by Pakistan, so instead they have worked to destabilize Pakistan.

It is for this reason that Iranians brought Indians to Oman (after India's loss of bases in Afghanistan.)

This sick game of keeping Pakistan landed and away from its own maritime rights and influence is shameful.

Actually UAE, Oman, and Iran are all guilty of destabilizing Balochistan and funding separatist groups there with the help of Indians. Their reasoning is it is needed to keep a potential rival out of the Middle East.

However it is Pakistan's destiny to be a major power in Southern Arabia. Our cultural ties and influence extend throughout Oman, Yemen, to Somalia.

Pretty sure they can't do sh*t from that island and the news is just a piece written by Msc. Sociology working for an Islamabad based click-bait Facebook news group.

All intel that can be gathered from that island can be gathered from Tel Aviv. Israel is light years ahead from Pakistan in the field of satellites and remote sensing.

That is nuclear bomb of a post. I was in Pakistan recently. The village I come from was always poor. The rocky, hilly land could not support much agriculture so decades ago sons from our village would be forced to seek employoment elsewhere. The favourite was army. Generations of our boys signed up. Over the decades education and upward mobility has reduced that trend but even today many boys join the army from poor families.

Next to our ancestral home lives such a family. As I was passing their gate I was called by the grandmother of the family. As I went in I met a old lady who told me she was friend of my mother. So after that I made a point of visiting here and sat there listening to her stories. One day I went there and she was crying. Her grandson who was only 19 years old had been seriously injured on the LOC. I saw the pain on that ladies face. I felt the pain of that young soldier. I cursed the Kashmir problem. Later I found the young soldier had lost a leg and would be pensioned off. He was lucky many such boys from poor villages lose their lives.

Bravdo and bluster is fine on PDF. But the suffering is borne by the poor. Fact is not one soldier in Pakistan has lost his life at the hands of Israeli Army. But 1,000s have at hands of India. Yet our fcukin public laps up Bollywood, Indian songs, Indian rubbish by the millions.

But mention Israel and they get convulsions and start frothing ....
Relax mate. A few Pakistanis do actually agree with this pragmatism you speak of regarding Israeli relations. There is simply no justification for Pakistan having made a mortal enemy out of the Israeli nation. It hasn't helped Palestinians or the "ummah" and it certainly hasn't helped Pakistan to be this way.

However, the boat has been missed. Pakistan, yet again, finds itself reacting to the machinations of others. The world moves while Pakistan looks meekly around from behind some tree, knowing full well that whatever bright ideas it had a week or two ago, it's too late now.

It would require a change in mindset tell a Pakistani to travel on a Pakistani passport to Ankara or Istanbul Airport tell me how he will be treated anyways regarding the Palestinians tho they are suffering unfortunately their leadership has failed and them and the Israelis can screw themselves I think Pakistan should just stay out of Mid East affairs at this point unless for Trade and investments

It's simply too late in the great game now to leverage anything against Israel in exchange for recognition of them. A decade ago, we could have undermined and short circuited the Bollywood circus before it reached Tel Aviv. Now though, it's in fashion to be Israel's buddy and instead of us getting f-35s, the way things are going, it's more likely we'll have to pay Israel for the privilege of recognising them. So perhaps there's no point now and we may as well resign ourselves to our eternal war with the Israelis despite having no reason to be at war with them.

I hate how every ME topic goes back to recognizing Israel. Your population would literally hang you in public if you even mention Israel is a positive way, and yet some have this idea that it will solve every problem.

Musharraf tried to do it, but he met massive protests and public anger, so he was forced to give up. Any government which tries this stunt will be toppled immediately.

Israel is an eternal enemy of Pakistan and other Muslim states as well. They have interfered in our region before against us and are currently doing so. Its time of reckoning is fast approaching.

No one is mentioning Islamabad wanting to start ties with Tel Aviv, just looking from a pragmatic sense how the regions dynamics is changing how Pakistan could respond to it by not doing anything lel

A beautiful island only belong to Yemani people. But has extreme strategic value.

The solution to this problem of Socotra, is simply that it is Yemeni terrority under illegal occupation by UAE & Israel, and that both Pakistan, and Iran should work with the goverment of Yemen to displace both countries illegal occupation from socotra and return the Island to Yemeni control ?

UAE and Israel are brazen enough to use this as an installation to harm Pakistan's interests, then Pakistan needs to firm action against this ?
