But strange thing is in punjabi the original word for "widow" is "randi" for female and for male it is "randa". In urdu I think for woman it is "randwi" and for man "randwa". So when people use word "randi" in the sense of prostitute it never makes any sense to me because it sounds "widow" to punjabi ears.

Like, what Aurat March has to do with LGBT rights and representation ?? They are asking for Women Empowerment n Rights which is all legal n good ( considering they have no ulterior motives ) but where does this Rainbow flag come from ??

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Islamists pelted campaigners with stones, shoes and sticks as they marched through Pakistan’s capital on Sunday to mark International Women’s Day.

Women and men joined the event in Islamabad, the largest such rally in the country, for what is known in Pakistan as the Aurat March, using the Urdu word for women.

Dozens of men and women from the Red Mosque brigade, consisting of several local militant groups, staged a rival rally just across from the women’s march venue, District Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat said.

Police official Mazhar Niazi said the officers blocked the Islamists as they tried to break through a cordon to attack the marchers.

A Reuters witness and Niazi said the Islamists threw stones, bricks, sticks and shoes at the marchers. Niazi said no one was injured.

He said a criminal case would be registered against the Islamists for violating the law and attempting to attack the women march.

There has been an uproar in conservative circles over slogans used at the past two such events, including “My body, my choice”, “My body is not your battleground” and “Stop being menstrual phobic”.

Following last year’s event, organisers said they faced a backlash including murder and rape threats.

Ahead of this year’s event, organisers say posters and murals were vandalised, including one by the Islamists from the Red Mosque.

Marches in other parts of the country were held peacefully amid tight security.

A court in the eastern city of Lahore allowed the march there to take place on condition that organisers and participants adhered to “decency and moral values”.

Bollywood introduced these curse words into our society. Every other word in Hindi is a curse on mothers, sisters, or women. It is absolutely disgusting, what a bastardized language.

Well frankly women march was not that big of an issue. They would come , show some posters, and go on and no body in the world would have noticed and everything would have gone on smoothly.
But the right and the middle complete abhorance of it has made it quite a big event. They have achieved their goal. Their message has reached to every corner thanks to those who want to stop it.
In a way it was healthy discussion the way societies discuss what they want and what they don't want. Both sides should give their arguments and let people decide. But it often gets violet. These aurat march ones are too not different from the terrorist women from jamia hafsa and so is the other party that hurls stones at them. Both are extremes.

these ppl come and tv and lies about their agenda. next time maybe folks should go to Fed Sharia court for sty/injunction.no one has any problem with the normal demand that women have. We all know the weaknesses of our society. These ppl are not liberals. Stop confusing the concept. These are la-deen far left. I know no one buy liberal 7 socialites of LHE & KHI and hardly anyone fully supports them or the way they come out about it.
