Statement sent to media demanding end to crackdown also includes unconfirmed claim of responsibility for rocket fire on Israel last week.

A statement sent to media Monday did not say what the IS supporters would do if the crackdown continued.

The warning included a claim of responsibility for a rocket fired at Israel from Gaza last week. The claim could not be independently verified. The rocket, which was launched last Tuesday evening, landed near Gan Yavne in southern Israel, the IDF said.

A Hamas source told Ynet a day later that the group had arrested those behind the trocket strike.

"What happened yesterday (the rocket fire) goes against the interests of the Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip and against our national interests," the source said. "We consider the rocket fire to be a dangerous thing."

Hamas has launched a crackdown on radical Islamists following a series of unclaimed bombings.

The Islamist group, which has ruled Gaza since 2007, says it views more radical groups as a threat. The extremists accuse Hamas of being soft on Israel and failing to impose religious law.

It's unclear how many IS supporters are in Gaza, or if any have operational links to the extremist group.

Who is Falcon going to support here? his Hamas heroes who bring destruction on Gaza every 2 years, or ISIS, his new heroes who will bring destruction on Gaza?

Are Hamas Islamist enough for him? they have beards, but is that enough?

Green or black - who's going to win this one?

I know what I'll be doing ::pop:

The fitna of religious extremism is turning on itself. I just feel for the innocent civilians getting caught in between these animals.

It's still just a scratch compared to what Europe went through, but yeah, these are bad times.

Yeah, I think this is a small salafi group in Gaza talking big. Not a major problem yet. Hamas will deal with them because Hamas craves absolute power.

Oh look, just after I posted this.

Well, that didn't take long :omghaha:

Hamas kills Salafist supporter of ISIS after besieging his home

Hamas security forces killed an activist of a rival Islamist militant group in a shoot-out at his Gaza home on Tuesday, witnesses said.

A spokesman for the Hamas-run Interior Ministry identified the man, Younis al-Honnor, only as a "lawbreaker", and said he was shot dead after firing at security officers who came to arrest him.

Local residents who witnessed the incident said Honnor was an activist in a Salafi group.

Hamas, an Islamist militant movement that governs the Gaza Strip, has mounted occasional crackdowns on rival and more radical Salafi groups that support global holy war endorsed by Islamic State and al-Qaida.

"(Honnor) had booby-trapped the house he was in. Explosive belts, explosive devices and rifle-propelled grenades were found inside," the spokesman said.

Tensions between Hamas and hard line religious Salafists have been rising in recent months, with over 100 alleged ISIS supporters being arrested so far, according to Israel Radio.

Groups such as The Salafist Trend, who use social media to express their support for the Islamic State, accuse Hamas of torturing its members in prisons, monitoring its activities in cities and tracking its movements across refugee camps throughout Gaza, according to Palestinian media.

Palestinian news agency Ma'an cited a press release issued by the group last month warning Hamas of the consequences of continuing there activity against The Salafist Trend.

"Once again we ask the wise people of Gaza to stop the ongoing Hamas criminality and abusive detention of our brothers before it's too late," the statement read.

Hamas has cracked down on Salafist groups in the past, particularly those on the violent fringes, seeing them as a threat to their authority.

What would hamas do with them ?

Behead them or there is uniform Israeli law.

Well I doubt the news is true. But if it is, then it is a bit of poetic justice.
Hamas helped the terrorists in Syria and showed them how to fight a war of attrition, and assisted in building tunnel networks.
Now those same terrorists that Hamas assisted, has turned its guns/attention against Hamas.
As Hamas is a militant Sunni group, I wonder who else these mindless sectarian idiots will blame now instead of reverting to their knee-jerk reflex and blame the Shia for all their mishaps.

I don't see what's funny about this matter. It's a serious discussion, the OP sees it as funny matter which is against rules.

.........................

As for the news itself, these are false reports from Fatah/Israeli/Egyptian media. They made another 'ultimatum' back in May. There was no such thing that happened. Today one individual who was planning to target Palestinian training sites was apprehended but opened fire on security forces unfortunately leading to his death. There is no serious situation in Gaza, the strip is secure regardless of what some people wish. Which is funny these Israelis/Pro-Sisi Egyptians/Fatah sympathizers proclaim to be the voice agaisnt Salafists and accuse of Hamas of being a Jihadist group but now that there is small crackdown on a few Salafists all of them are condemning Hamas and hoping for civil war to break out in Gaza which is really lame. Anyone who takes that as a laughing matter should be banned. Especially this double user.

Anyways, for those curious, don't waste your time waiting for next two days. It's sensazalation from lame people. Most of recent attacks on security forces were done by Fatah members.

And if he thinks its funny, if something bad arises out of this, all it will result it in is all members of Hamas/IJ/Other armed wings into forming one large military wing. So I'm not sure that's in his interests.

Thank you brother Falcon29

Always your ''posts'' turn out to be BS

What's BS about it?

A salafi ISIS supporter was gunned down in Gaza today after his group 'threatened' Hamas.

Go and clean Erdogan's toilet.
