Islamic State 'has lost 50,000 fighters' over two years - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-38252092
At least 50,000 militants from so-called Islamic State have been killed since the US-led coalition started fighting in Iraq and Syria two years ago, a US military official has said.
The official on Thursday said that coalition air strikes could be intensified in places likeMosul, which Iraqi troops are now battling to recapture, but that had to be offset against the risk of civilian casualties.
But in August, Lt Gen Sean MacFarland was quoted by the AP news agency as saying that about 45,000 enemy combatants had been killed.
IS has lost a lot of ground since it reached the high tide of its expansion in 2014, and isnow under fire from Russian, Turkish, Iraqi, Syrian and Kurdish forces, as well as US andBritish air power.
It is now entrenched in Mosul and Raqqa andthe Sunni Arab tribal heartland of the Euphrates river valley, which stretches from eastern Syria to western Iraq.

I don't support ISIS but i thing good about them is that UN had verified all of their claims in mosul war. 1950+ soldiers killed. 250+tanks destroyed.

but I don't see an end to this terrorists vs terrorists war.
poor brainwashed people from both sides killing each other for no reason.

They have been thoroughly brainwashed.
Kill and be killed is their goal. No one can help them if their entire purpose of existance is death and destruction.

I have to wonder... 50000 homes with dead young kids, plus tens of thousands more with missing kids...

And not even enough backlash from the "victim families" as one gets on a news about someone not allowed to wear a particular headgear to an interview...

How come these families are not losing their shit and taking out processions against ISIS?

All sides in syria and iraq have same purposes and missions i.e. destroy other group, along with civilians belonging to that sect.
i see no end to this war. there is a bad ideology behind it.

Hopefully all of this scums have gathered in syria & iraq so that they can be wiped off from the face of this earth or ideally caught so can imprisoned in worst prisons all over the globe

250 vehicles in total, not tanks. They loose twice the number of casualties but don't release it for public.

Either way the number of IS members killed since Dec 2013 has exceeded 80,000 in Iraq alone. And no they're not 400 members that took over Mosul.

Extremely doubtful. By all accounts ISIS has not had more than 50.000 active members at most in any given time. Claims of having killed 50.000 or 100.000 ISIS members must be considered wishful thinking at best given the lack of evidence and lack of logic. Given such claims we might as well believe ISIS claims.

For instance currently the biggest stronghold of ISIS in Iraq (currently as well as since 2014) is defended by a mere 3500 members. At most 5000 members.

Anyway let's say that 50.000 have been killed in Syria and Iraq in the past 2 years, theoretically
speaking. Divide that number with 730. It equals almost 140 dead ISIS fighters a day on average. Is any sane person going to believe that number, lol? That's only dead. Add that number to the injured which often are as high or higher than actual casualties.

Nah, wishful thinking, I say, unless proven otherwise by actual proof.

I would not be surprised if they add the civilian casualties. Just recently American air bombardments (or Iraqi army) killed at least 60 civilians (some say over 100) in Al-Qaim.

We hear such stories each week almost in Syria and Iraq. However such a topic is considered taboo so not discussed besides the lives of those people are worth nothing to begin with. Their countries useless regimes have abandoned them/failed them/their areas and the international community do not care about them.

The truth is probably somewhere in between as it usually is.

many civilians killed by shia militia were declared IS members. Iraq needs to form a unity government and army to stop these incidents.
