ISIS top command dominated by ex-officers in Saddam’s army

.

Of course, in PDF and many other places on Internet.

Some even said Iraqi gov and Shias are responsible for extreme ideology of ISIS! Because they were oppressed. Poor guys. They said we are oppressed, so let's chop some heads and crucify some infidels to regain our civil liberties.

Meanwhile, In Saddam's era, hundreds of thousands of Shias were killed and millions oppressed and not even one terrorist attack by Shias occurred against Sunnis.

Well i know about some supporters of isis here but its safe to say 99% of members agree isis is a terrorist organisation and there is no justification for their actions.

And i wouldnt put sectarianism so much into spotlight when it comes to isis, also sunnis in isis controlled are suffer under their terrorism, there is no point in making it into sunni-shia thing when isis is fighting and killing booth.

.
how do secular nationalist baath party play into ISIS and terrorism in Arab world?
sorry im not up to date with these things, but I thought ba'ath ideology would've been effective to counter radicalism and extremism....
that's what happens when you create a vacuum of power and leave behind anarchy.

If you look closer, I am actually bashing those sectarian nutjobs who 'ignored' or stood silent on monstrous actions of ISIS only because they emerged from Sunni communities of Iraq and Syria (joined by other countries). Yes, many Sunnis are suffering now living under IS, but don't make a mistake. They still have considerable supporters in those areas (even if they are not majority).

There is a reason you don't see human resource problems in ISIS, despite losing, on average, 30-40 members a day. Their recruitment base in areas they rule is very strong. You can't recruit so many forces if you don't have some support in an area.

Good job US for bringing instability to the region.

Not justifiying anything but in contrary to European wannabe bad *** jihadists the locals often have no choice than switching to either side, staying neutral in a conflict zone is the hardest part of war.

Im sure you have seen the thread about 19 girls killed by isis for refusing their digusting request.

Stop playing victim. What those 'Shia militias' may have done, is not even 1/10000 of what Sunnis did to Shias in Iraq, both during Saddam's rule and after the leadership was handed to Shias.

Man, I'm not playing victim. I'm not sectarian-minded like many of the Iranian members here on this forum who will weep for oppressed Shi'ites in Bahrain, back the Shi'ite fighters in Yemen and defend the Shi'ite regime in Syria while claiming that it's the "Zionazi-Wahabi-Salafists" fault the entire region is embroiled in sectarian violence.
When Saddam was ruling, he killed hundreds of thousands of Shias directly and indirectly.

Because during Saddam's time, Shias were deadset on turning Iraq into an Islamic state (thanks to a bearded nutter across the border, 10 points to you if you guess who it is) governed by Islamic laws. Secular Ba'athism just didn't work with them. Ironic how Iranians will lambast Saddam for this but will cheer on Assad who is doing nearly the same thing but with a different sect.

Some Shias took up arms and fought back (and some extremists among them did commit some crimes), but you are not fooling anyone here.

Well, at least you've admitted that Shias had begun to run rampant.

Although their crime, however small it is compared to what Sunnis have done in Iraq, can not be ignored or excused, but comparing that to what Sunnis did (both in Saddam era and after that in forms of ISIS and Al-Qaeda) is the most stupid and hypocritical thing to do.

We're not debating who did what more. I know Saddam killed millions more than any crazy Shia death squad operating in Baghdad.
We're talking about how a prejudiced government and death squads operating without impunity helped create ISIS.

The foundations for Daesh were laid out in the late 90s by Zarqawi, a Jordanian Salafist, and similar Afghan-Arabs. It's too simplistic to say that a Shia regime helped create Daesh. No, they have a far greater goal than just to kill the "Rafida", namely the restoration of the caliphate.

The foundations of Daesh as a terrorist organisation was established by this man, perhaps. Could Daesh ever turn into a full-fledged state under the helm of ideologically driven fighters?

So we will conveniently ignore the main reason for this daesh filth to be around, and for the x Iraqi officers to be running the show, that how the Americans despite being told otherwise by almost the whole world disbanded the entire Iraqi army overnight, and paved the way for the mess we are facing now. What do u expect when u take away the security apparatus of a nation, and try to rebuild the whole damn thing. The people dont vanish, they live on.

And @Serpentine, where u like to blame the whole universe for the troubles in Iraq and Syria. Kindly notice the other 3 finger pointing back at u. Dont act innocent and forget the role iran has played in the whole mess, no one is a saint here.

ISIS is secular liberal organization run by people who epitomizes liberal progressiveness i.e the former members of Baath party . No wonder its such a anti-islamic organization helping further the interest of liberal secular western powers.

U r a classic case of an intentionally not-so-aware liberal. After all why let facts come in the way when u r looking for any excuses for maligning islam & muslims. ISIS is baath party with a new facade. It represents secular liberal progressiveness and that is why it is so vile and destructive.

You're very rude to your new caliph.

ISIS = Iraqi Baath
Assad = Syrian Baath

Two sides of same shitty coin.
