if we can somehow make peace and have a truce with the Taliban that could kill two birds with one stone.

It seems very possible actually. USA does not consider Taliban a terrorist organization but rather a local insurgency. ISIS on the other hand is an apocalyptic organization with global aims.

The PLO is Palestine world recognised/legitimate government. Hama's is still mainly a terror outfit/militant group. They purposeful/knowingly target civilians and claim it when its carried out. You hardly hear PLO do such things. Reason even Egypt, Saudi Arabia and other Arab/Muslim countries refuse to arm/support them militarily. The hell , Egypt has even blocked all access to them(rightly) seeing as they are supporting islamist groups in Sinai against the Egyptian government.
