The current pandemic forcing many folks to remain at home, causing huge losses for the cinema theaters. At the same there has been huge popularity and viewership of the Turkish Ertugul series in Pakistan, largely viewed on Youtube. For me the conclusion is clear, that the traditional cinema theater is dead in Pakistan and future productions should move to a 100% online streaming platform. What are your thoughts?

It is all over the world after the advent of Netflix.
Don't worry it would open up in an year or 2. But eventually it has to die in a dacade or 2. This is a problem not specific to Pakistan but to the world. India and Hollywood face similar crisis of bigger magnitude.

.
I hope the bollywood addiction of Pakistanis continue to grow, so that we can earn good money from them.

Bollywood is an excellent tool for Indian soft power projection.

.
Hollywood and Indian Cinema (Bollywood/Hindi cinema is small part of it) will survive rest will fall.

.
Cinema Fall was Starting from 1996 as Lollywood End Start.
.
Mostly reason was 3rd Class Picture Quality,

Same 2-3 Actors/Actress were in Urdu Movies as well as in Punjabi, as Most of Well known senior artist were Retired, New Faces were not Introduced,

Most of film directors/producers do not want to risk, some were went to Bollywood, for example Javed Sheikh,

Our film industry was based on Story and Music, Indian film industry were copying Hollywood, then Pakistani film Industry started copying their movies after 1996 , so fall of film industry started and same fall of cinema started too..

Most of Pakistani women are housewives, they are more interested in Cable TV, but not in Cinema, so most of Men too are not interested in Cinema, they consider cinema are vulgarity..

Mullah are against Cinemas, most of time they stole things from Cinema halls and broke glasses, windows and cinema screen..

If there should introduce good Hollywood and Korean Movies with dubbing in Cinema Halls, then there are huge chances of up of Cinema Industry, but on Cinema Halls most of Hollywood movies are mostly showed in English Audio,

Other Reason is most of Cinema Hall have outdated tech, so 3rd class pic quality, no 4k screens

It’s dying fast, few watch that trash now. I give it 5 years max and no more. Tensions with India were part of the final nail as well.
Stuff like Etragul rules the roost now.

Bollywood is also suffering a large decline in Pakistan. In my parents generation, my father would routinely go to the cinema to watch Bollywood films. My generation.....well I haven't seen a Bollywood film in over a decade. My wife watches local drama's or Turkish media.

Bollywood is low quality copy of other language films from all world.
People's also only watch this low quality films but good original movies become flop.

I watch some Pakistan film trailers on youtube, they look like low quality copy of bollywood.

India making films for more then 100years but zero oscars.
Because Low quality films.

Pakistani film industry was finished in 1996,
all actors/actress retired or dead,

Indian film industry was copying Hollywood before from 1970,
Pakistani film industry was better (if not popular) than Indian, was based on good story, acting and music,
video quality was so so..

On 1996, Pakistani industry become copy industry,
same 2-3 actors/actress appear in local (Punjabi) movie, and same in Urdu movies,
Indian industry was peak in copying of Hollywood, Pakistani starting copying Indian movies,
When Pakistani public watch Hollywood movie, same Indian, then same Pakistani movie...
Number of movies fall to 1-3 from 50-60

Fall of film industry was was fall cinema industry

Pakistani stupid directors were using horses and ak47 in movies, when Hollywood was using Jet and machine guns.. Sultan Rahi and Shan made great role in the fall of Pakistani film industry, their all movies mostly were with horses and ak47... then few directors/producers went on Indian film industry as they do not want to risk their money like Jawed Sheikh... and other said good bye to industry..

These type of stupid Punjabi Movies and Actors/Actress were reason for Industry fall

Even Pakistan stupid directors/producers started copying names of Indian Movies,
Ram Jane > Khuda Jaane
Sajan Chale Susral > Hum to Chale Susral

>Now Pakistani Youth are Interested in Hollywood, Chinese, Korean Movies,
>Very least number of kids watch Indian movies now they are going away from Indian movies as no story and Indian director are following Pakistani film makers path, only copy copy movies..
> Pakistani dramas are better than its movies, but lot of people starting interest in Hollywood and Turk Dramas like "Game of Thrones", "Ertugrul Ghazi", "Ishq Mamnu", "Mera Sultan"

The "big screen" is close to death in Pakistan. Entertainment sector should focus 100% on TV or internet based streaming methods. There needs to be a larger focus on media for children both online (youtube) and on TV in my opinion. Youtube channels for kids are gold mines as nowadays since many children all over the world watch on smart phones or tablets.
