I have been reading in various websites and news channels (and some Facebook posts) that people are standing 4 to 5 hours to exchange their 500 and 1000 re notes..my experience here in a city of telangana(Warangal) is not so bad..no one here in my city stood more than an hour in front of ATMs(mostly only SBH is dispensing money in ATMs..other ATMs are not giving out much money).

Is the situation really that serious in other parts of India?None of the people I interacted with in my workplace or in banks or near ATMs complained about Modis move..their minor complaint is that govt should have sent enough money to the banks before invalidating those high denomination notes.

You are a very nice people, if the government did that in China and caused such a wild spread inconvenience for the people in China, it would definitely leads to a riot.

people regularly riot in India for various reasons... but they seem to agree with govt on this hence not much anger...
mind you this govt got elected because people were angry about corruption...

People were angry on corruption and believe this is a solid step towards it. However i agree on your point.

Its other way round actualy.
People in china dont really have any choice against govt's decision.
Only if they made good decisions, China has more protests happened than India and the west calls that social unrest.

Not so nice bro, we tend to fight each other in every long queue.
But here, we believe in the good intent of our government & Modi. We think somehow we are contributing to the fight against corruption. You cant imagine the chaos & riot if this would have been done by Kejriwal.

My father had to wait approx 45 minutes, we live in Khar Bandra area Mumbai. Also his branch is one of busiest being nearest to local train and bus station Khar road. Yes it is crowded but orderly crowded which keeps getting clear in less time.

You think Chinese government can do whatever they want to do to the people, that's very wrong, the government is always very cautious and knows where to stop, the government is made up by people as well and there's check and balance within the communist party, all those top leaders have to constantly watch their back cause their political rivals will not let any mistakes pass to bring their downfall. every several months a governer level high official falls and is put behind the bars, thousands of low level officials are being sued every year. China captures more corrupt officials every year than most countries.
