chinese trolls in overdrive for overtime of 50 cents per post .:enjoy:
There are more Indian trolls seeing the comment posted for that video. :enjoy:

Obviously, they received less than 50 cent and not even enough for a doze of Morphine! In troll online war, I have to admit China is no match for Indian self delusion.

I have some not-so-positive and some positive things to say about the vid.

I must say the vid is a bit overenthusiastic in praising ISRO. This organization was actually preceded by a similar one called INCOSPAR which was set up in 1962 and that makes ISRO 59 years old. Compare that to SpaceX which is 19 years old and has already taken people to space ( the International Space Station ) and is currently developing spacecraft that can technically carry 100 people to Mars orbit though there is the thing about carrying food, water, medical items and other things.

ISRO did the incorrect thing of becoming a satellite launcher when it should have concentrated on human spaceflight right from the time of establishment. Actually with the number of engineers and scientists that India has and the reasonably large industrial base it has there should have been an Indian Mars colony by now.

Nevertheless one good thing that has been happening in Indian space circles in recent years is delegation of spacecraft R&D to private groups. I know of three - Agnikul Cosmos, Skyroot Aerospace and Bellatrix Aerospace - which are either developing rocket engines, engines for satellites or entire launch rockets ( for small payload ). I hope that they get more ambitious and develop human space transport programs individually so that at least by the mid-2030s they can transport people and infrastructure to Mars. Also, I hope India can have a joint Mars settlement effort with South Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa, West Asia and Caribbean / South America.

Despite all of ISROs successes it is still a government organization with little accountability that hampers innovation. Although it's crown jewel of PSU, it still is a PSU. India needs to invite major private players to set up aerospace division support them technologically and financially. And also encourage startups in this sector.

Dude India at thae time ISRO establishment had no money for space program, They literally constructed their rocket and sats in garage and carried them on bicycle and bullock cart, google the pics if you want to check. How could they even think of human spaceflight at that time. Also human spaceflight is an incredible achievement no don't but they will do little for nations progress compared what we can do with satellites.

Then how do we explain the successes and projects of the USSR's space agency which was a government organization ? In fact the USSR had a Mars project that intended to launch a human team in 1975, land on Mars and stay there for a year. It is not about being or not being a government organization but about ambition. :)

Agreed. So it is nice that ISRO has opened up the field for private players ( I mentioned three in my earlier post ). Also, couple of famous people are funding them. I know of Deepika Padukone and Anand Mahindra.

I know about those pictures. I will still say ISRO wasn't ambitious. Take SpaceX. This company has been speaking about Mars settlement from day zero. And compare the huge resources ( financial, human and material ) that ISRO has as advantage over SpaceX, yet SpaceX is greatly progressing than ISRO.

About satellites and ISRO, here too ISRO can launch satellites only to a certain weight payload, above which ISRO contracts the launch to the French company ArianeSpace. Maybe ISRO should have better cultivated talented engineers / scientists like Nambi Narayanan.
