Our relation is not as fierce as relation between India vs Pakistan/Bangladesh.

But as history shown that Indonesia has once tried to invade Malaysia and our Navy personnel has bombed Singapore 50 times during Ganyang Malaya campaign.

This makes both countries citizens never fully trust Indonesia. Even our President Habibie called Singapore as little red dot where the call has become so famous in both Indonesia and Singapore public.

Malaysia and Singapore also hates each other and particularly between Malay Malaysian vs Singaporean. They have serious territorial dispute and in many times creates tension between both countries.

Indonesia and Malaysia during Najib government has some tension due to territorial dispute as well. Something new in Indonesian mind since they never show such confrontial behavior before like that during previous PM. They made that kind of behavior during our weakest period in 2006 when our Air Force still get effected by US arm embargo and the economy is still in recovering mode after suffering economic crisis in 1997-2002.

If your pet theory is correct, North Korea would have surpassed the development of South Korea. North is a dictatorship and the south is a democracy. But, the development in the democratic south is phenomenal. North lives in the 1600s.
