For such a childish thread you get a childish answer.
I asked for a third option,he refused.
Lets be clear, without the US we would not be where we are now, with the positives and the negatives of this relationship.
It is all about the pros and cons as you said. If we didn't had ties with the US, I think USSR would've turned us into a country like the Afghanistan or an another Warsaw Pact country at the best odds. But then, the US have turned us into an agricultural society in the nuclear age (like how they planned at first to make Germany and Japan after the WW2)... It is debatable and there are pros and cons...

Of course it's complicated. I know it's complicated. You know that I know it's complicated. But had there been a 3rd option, it'd have dominated the poll. People love being a bunch of wishy-washy twats and I don't actually blame them. It's just human nature. In psychology it's called Zero Risk Bias. People don't want to be and/or appear wrong so they invent solutions that minimize that risk. Problem is, In the end it'd have defeated the purpose of the poll, which is to try and label US' relationship with Turkey. One can consider an infinite number of factors, go back and forth, but eventually it boils down to a binary choice. It's either TO BE, or NOT TO BE. If you bother to read the first post, you'd realize in how many different ways the US has fvcked us over the decades.

I think you should prepare yourself for an insulting, toxic, childish answer from him. Thank you for sacrificing yourself for our mental health and the common good. It was nice knowing you :pop:
No,dont worry,im sure he gets it now,he understands that emotional actions dont work.
He needed to see reality.

US as in CIA,this is actually true.
Same happened in many countries(South America,ME,Africa).

They don't, even though some of them ACT that way at times for political reasons. Many Kemalists look at America as their patron and savior from the Islamists/Conservatives/Erdoganists. They don't give a fvck about Turkey's national security, interests, or pride.

Erdogan is the biggest traitor or the worst president in the Republic era. Even though i'm not a Kemalist, they are far more patriotic and would die for the country than desert rats like you that would die for arabia.

Kemalist(!) people are not angels too. They care about Liberalism and being a western lover, they don't care about Ataturk and Turkey.

Both so called Islamists and pesuedo-Kemalists need be crushed by Tanks
No one needs to be crushed by tanks, some of you are so fascinated with medieval cruelty. Be civilized already!
Kemal and Erdoganist need to run fair and square elections like GOP and DNC in the States and let people decide. usurping power and rewriting constitution eventually will lead to stagnation, political upheaval, and dissatisfaction among masses

I wouldnt take the US as reference when talking about democracy though, US democracy is one of the worst kind of democracies. Its propbably the worst among democracies when it comes to representing the the interests of common folk. The voters interest always come after the big lobbies and corporate interests, so yeah in that sense i would still prefer Turkish democracy with more checks on the president and stronger/more independent institutions.
Would still be better than the ridiculous american system that automatically eliminates any third party in praxis.
