While Trump clearly says that he got absolute powers, governor of New York on the other hand refuse to open NY for business regardless if orders comes from POTUS, if he thinks by doing so endangers the lives of people.

Worse than instability. Civil war. California is declaring some quasi independence over the handling of the pandemic.

https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/a...s-independence-from-trump-s-coronavirus-plans

Things will unravel very quickly into civil war. Panic buying over toilet paper resulted in fights in stores. What do you think panic buying of food will do?

I was actually expecting this kind of arguments between provincial and federal governments in Pakistan some of them are literally baying for each other blood, politically, but for my surprise every state government and federal have acted with maturity.

This crisis is certainly revealing a lot about America as a unified state and nation.

What American constitution say if a state want to leave the union and declare independence?

.
Don't know. Practically speaking, whites will ignore laws when it suits them. So, most likely this will be solved with violence.

I think there is a provision to declare independence but knowing how American deep state works, it might not be peaceful.

I wonder how NY will react once this is over, the economic hub of the country left to fend for itself.

.
No, there won't be civil war and instability will be limited. The US will survive this pandemic and hysteria as one nation and it will happen in the next 1-2 months. After that the US will be suing China, I guarantee you.

.
How will they avoid civil war? 17 million unemployed...and climbing.

Already at this early stage, scientists have figured out all 5 strains come from America which makes it the originator. Second, it has the most of the original A strain, which again implicates America as the originator. Combine that with lies about "vaping" deaths to coverup coronavirus deaths, secret meetings in biowarfare rooms, refusal to test for months, intentionally flawed testing kits, orchestrated western propaganda about wuhan seafood market/videos of bat food in Palau, and intelligence warnings about a cataclysmic event will destroy China before China even knows, etc. The case is so lopsided against America. What does America have, really? It comes down to "they're guilty because...chinks".

You think that from your news. The news here does not mention anything about the original strain coming from the US. In fact there was a new article today talking about how there were safety issues with China's Wuhan lab, insinuating again that the virus leaked from China's lab.

Even if there was conclusive evidence that the virus originated from the US, which there isn't yet, it will not be accepted by the American government, American media nor the American people because the origin of the virus has become so politicized.

There won't be civil war but there will be significant economic suffering. But the US will trudge through this and recover like it has many times before.

It has been happening way before the coronavirus. Caused by identity politics, the left is moving toward socialism while the right is moving towards white power strong man rule.

that was settled in the 1860s

that was settled in the 1860s

I don't know what was settled back in 1860s, not have much interested in that part of world admittedly. But whatever was settled it seems only work when all is hunky dory.

I have not seen armed protests yet in any part of world.

All I know that in my country, the foreign sponsored government introduced 18th amendment on behalf of their foreign masters to cause the federation to break in the name of provincial autonomy. I heard NY governor mentioned 10th amendment which I take is same as our 18th amendment!? Good to see that chicken are coming home to roost.

Lol, Trump is actually encouraging these blatant violations of social distancing!! Can anyone believe this?

Trump does not have absolute authority, even if he claims he does.

These political divisions have always existed, and they will continue to exist, and while they've gotten worse in recent years, it won't change much.

He is now encouraging armed protesters who are against lockdown through his tweets!!

Not even a sub Sahara state will act this recklessly.

And you got a POTUS who thought he will treat covid19 with anti bacterial drugs!

I am glad chickens are coming home to roost when these suckers sponsored 18th amendment in Pakistan to unravel our federation, now finding themselves in a tussle between their own states and federation. Karma is a b!tch.

This comes down to state rights, verses federal authority.

All he's really said is "liberate Minnesota" on twitter, which is pretty much a worthless and meaningless comment to make.

Armed militias at right wing protests has been going on for a long time, from the tea party protests, to the unite the right rally, they're always there, and they'll always be there.

Nothing is going to happen.

Elections are coming up, so political rhetoric is running high, and its going to get higher, but in the end, nothing is going to change.

.
Public spending will multiply with manifolds with less people working and paying less taxes. That will put tremendous pressure on the Fed because US states are unable to print dollars themselves. This is an uncharted territory and there are a lot of uncertainties if the social distancing policy last for a year as many local government officials are suggesting.

Refer to my comment about 18th amendment in Pakistan.

All he's really said is "liberate Minnesota" on twitter, which is pretty much a worthless and meaningless comment to make.

Nothing is going to happen.

He is encouraging "armed" protesters who are defying social distancing and lockdown!

NY has got more deaths as compared to whole of China, many times over. 22 million Americans out of work, economic indicators are mimicking the great depression, and nothing going to change?
