Iraq to construct oil pipeline to Jordan.

Iraq currently sells Jordan about 15,000 barrels per day . The new dual pipelines will supply oil and gas to Jordan as well as export to Europe. The oil pipeline will have a capacity of 1 million barrels per day.

Iraq has been selling oil to the kingdom at discount prices for years, much lower than the market value.

Iraq is planning to increase its oil production to over 6 million bpd over the next decade and is trying to find alternative routes.

Iraq currently ships most of Its oil through the Basrah oil terminal which will be able to handle 4 million bpd when the current expansion is complete. Iraq also has exports oil through pipelines which go to Ceyhan port in Turkey.

Iraq was planning to build pipelines through syria (both export to europe and supply), but the current situation in syria will delay
these plans.

Iraq had another pipeline built through Saudi Arabia before the gulf war, but the Saudi government refused to allow Iraq to use and claimed it as their own as "compensations". Saudi Arabia currently uses it to transport it's own oil.

Another gas pipeline is being built from Iran through iraq and into syria to transport iraqi and Iranian gas (shared) to Europe, the Syrian part of the pipeline will probably be delayed as well.

Can you give me a reason?

Iraq is a major economical parter of syria. Iraq constitutes to 40% of all Syrian exports. So the Iraqi Syrian ties are important, no matter who's in power.

Besides this will benefit both countries.

You are not Syrian so why are you trying so hard to speak for them?
