I wonder if they're ever going to release a new standard service rifle for the regular army & IRGC ? I'd like to see them choose the MASAF (HK 416 clone), although of course special units will choose their own rifles.

its recent. they are IRGC fatehin unit.

I'm pretty sure that Iran's military has reverse engineered the G3 by now, I've even seen ones with newer stocks, some with scopes, then there's that bullpup version. In any case every soldier should have a modern rifle with a scope. It's kind of strange that they seem to now be fixated on the 5.56x45mm cartridge since it has less stopping power. I guess they're decided that its worth it to sacrifice stopping power for accuracy in fire fights ? The Turks however, with their new MPT-76, switched from the 5.56x45mm round to the 7.62x51mm round. Their soldiers simply didn't like the smaller, less powerful round. As far as I can tell though, they've only produced 25,000 so far. Maybe they're having issues with it ? who knows.

Abrams in Iran ? No Zulfiqar 3. With this color scheme it looks alot like the Abrams

WOW all it needs is a gun mantlet for a cleaner look & voila. LOL Interesting how this was an upgrade program for the M-60 & the Abrams itself was original an upgrade program for the M-60. I wonder how many of these are out there ? in service ? I mean obviously it doesn't stack up against a real Abrams, especially the newer one with the upgrades, but it's interesting. Here's an Abrams from the front for comparison.

Does Iranian Zulfiqar 3 has any blowout panels?

Looks like iran was able to acquire the 2B9M Vasilek 82mm automatic gun-mortar,possibly via syria or russia.

Heres a vid of it in action,it fires a 4 round burst and is loaded with 4 round clips so has a crazy high rate of fire,it can also be fired horizontally as a normal artillery piece. Its a very neat weapon
