Iranian cyberattack hit multiple Pakistani telecoms and extracted trove of data using virtual tunnel

how do you know its iran not some other isreal got the best operation talpiot.

What spy targets does Israel have in Pakistan that they would need to eavesdrop by hacking Pakistani telecoms?

corrupt colonial era generals are more busy amassing wealth and plots and extending their legal time period than care about the country. Its because of such generals, the country is in a mess in the first place.

Seriously, Iran is doing cyberattacks to extract data on spy targets from Pakistani telecoms. Meanwhile Pakistan is busy trying to fire everyone from only dysfunctional steel mill in Pakistan. The contrast is stark.

Pakistani IT engineers move abroad for better prospects.
In pakistan, they treat engineers like dogs and pay them nothing equivalent to the amount of work taken from them.

We never lacked talent. We lacked the will to nurture and uplift.

If the attack has happened by an iranian state actor, retaliation is a right. We have got to be clear with Iran now. Iran cannot afford another hostile state and neither can Pakistan.

Above all Pakistan must focus on itself. Document your economy increase the mil budget and sort iran, afghanistan and india out.

Iran is not a top player when it comes to cyberspace, 2 months ago Iran's National Organization for Civil Registration was hacked and personal information of Iranians were sold on dark web. This attack was likely carried out by the Zionists on behalf of Indians using Iranian computers, if you don't believe me ask the Jews themselves:

If this is true, iran really nees to be punished, not necessarily in cyber world. Red lines need to be drawn, our leadership is dumb and weak.

.
Despite having a lot of potential in this IT and cyber security field today we have to face all this.We just need little effort and we will be leaders in this because the talent is already here. We made the first computer virus in this world.
Several times I talked on this forum to have a bloody cyber force assisted, trained and funded by government.
All leading military powers these days have cyber force ,that's actually like infantry or artillery a new branch and here our army, airforce and navy is sleeping. These days the government backed Russian and Chinese hackers have the power of shutting down an entire enemy nation without firing a bullet.
I am those bastard Iranian hackers are government backed and hence very well protected unlike rogue group of hackers working on their own. We need to answer them back in a very harsh way.

Honestly, as an Iranian, I don't know if this report is true or not, but assuming that it's true, I really hope they have stolen some nuclear information (particularly with military dimensions) too because Pakistan is ahead of us in nuclear technology and such information can be very useful for us in future.
Highly sensitive information like related to our nuclear program is highly encrypted and never communicated on those private Telecom networks. That's communicated on military networks and it's not on any computer server to keep it secure from the outside world. That's the reason our nuclear program is safest among the world.
But you can keep dreaming , becoming a nuclear power will remain a wet dream of you Iranians.

Is this part of Inteqam Sakht project?

A group of Iranian hackers has targeted three telecom firms in Pakistan and breached data servers, revealed a cyber security company, Symantec.

While the report does not reveal the names of the companies that were targeted, it discloses that the group uses virtual “tunnels” to stay connected to the victims’ machines without a trace.

Using virtual tunnel technique, they can also access other machines on the same network to extract valuable information.

Jon DiMaggio, senior cyber threat analyst at Symantec explained, Iranian “Greenbug” is capable to breach telecom network repeatedly. “As we would close one door, they would attempt to come back from another.”

Besides, this is not the first time a hacker group has been involved in cyberattacks against telecom companies. According to Symantec, 18 different groups linked to various governments around the globe targeted telecom firms in 2019.

Telecom companies will always get these cyberattacks because they have valuable information in their databases, says Symantec. Big telecom companies like AT&T and Verizon have heavily invested in protection against cyberattacks, however, not all companies have the same resources.

The reports recommended firms to keep their systems up to date with the latest security tools and features. There are tools that can automatically eliminate vulnerabilities from the databases of companies.
