What's new

Iranian cars ... Gonna buy if available?

Why do you think the mule is in India?
Renault-Nissan has R&D exactly where it was spotted.

Let's assume that it's a Chinese platform. Even then, most likely it's here to test Renault-Nissan components.
Else it's a Renault platform altogether.

No it's not a Renault platform ... I'm 100% sure!

This is SP100 cross :

Platform and design are very different things. You can't be sure it's not Renault platform from a picture.

Anyway, they could be testing Renault components on a SAIPA car as part of some deal, since there have been some events in their relationship recently.
It's certainly not launching in India, so there must be some other reason.
(Only other thing I can think of is that Renault is testing it here to launch their original car, but then again, you'll have to accept that it's a Renault car.)

Either way, we'll see.

Saipas strategy:

(KIA) Pride ---> Tiba ---> Saina (KIA Rio level) -> Quick (Saina Cross) ---> SP100 ---> SP200

So its reasonable to assume this is the heritage, not Renault nor Brilliance.

Saipas problem is the lack of a own engine and own AT gearbox for more advanced cars such as the SP200. Their own, current motors and gearboxes can only support Saina level cars.

Until those new, higher rated subsystems are produced in numbers we will be into the 2020's and then the state of art looking SP200 will be again somewhat behind.
But in total: They do it with minimum foreign cooperation, all other global newcomers such as KIA have had extensive support from the big players.
However this is not that good news as Saipa also let many parts been produced outside because Iranian parts suppliers are not able to produce at economical prices.

Iran Khodro is really performing bad on new platforms...

SP100 based on brilliance H220 !

I can prove it ...

Outstanding ^^
Wonder what's outstanding about , it.
for me its another Requiem for Iran car Industry.
The Engine is the same one as Brilliance H330 at the best same engine with some more fine tuning.
the Gearbox come directly from Hyundai Power Tech and its rumored it's the same Gearbox hey gave for Brilliance cars
the project manager himself said this car can only get 3 star from NCAP
The car is tested by Renault Nissan India and I don't get what is national about it when for it's design Saipa admitted get help from foreign companies even the turbocharged model of it will be completely designed by AVL from Austria

now about domestically designing the car ,I must say my ***
look at Brilliance h230 and you see from where they plagiarized the design

Do you wonder why outsiders can't inter into EU or US car market ?

All new diesel cars fail EU emissions standards, says study

The environmental group responsible for exposing the Volkswagen diesel emissions scandal has published a study concluding that even the newest, cleanest diesel-engine vehicles fail to meet EU standards in real-world driving conditions. The International Council on Clean Transportation, a US non-profit organisation, has conducted emissions tests on more than 700,000 cars and 4,850 vehicle models across Europe in an effort to give consumers and municipalities reliable information on nitrogen oxide (NOx) pollution. The results were “a striking confirmation of [the] worst fears about diesel cars”, said the ICCT. On average, even the worst-rated petrol vehicles driven in the real world “were within 1.5 times the type-approval limit”, whereas the most environmentally friendly, Euro 6 diesel vehicles — the standard to which all new cars introduced since 2014 must adhere — were “more than twice the type-approval limits”. Other Euro 6 diesels were four times the limit, while some Euro 5 cars were 18 times the limit. The study is important because it contests what car manufacturers have been saying in the past year as they push back against the prospect of diesel bans in European cities. In February, Germany’s highest administrative court said cities have a duty to meet EU air-quality regulations and that restrictions on older diesel cars was a legal way for cities to become compliant. Carmakers, however, have contested what they see as blanket bans. They have argued that pollution from older diesel cars can be reduced with software upgrades and that the newest diesel engine vehicles are already far cleaner. The new data show that argument is “completely wrong”, said Peter Mock, managing director of the ICCT in Europe. “We can really conclude that pretty much all Euro 6 diesels on the market are not clean.” The emissions database — called the Real Urban Emissions initiative and available at www.trueinitiative.org — was developed with “remote-sensing equipment”. Emissions from one second’s worth of driving are detected as cars pass through a light beam from a sampling location on the road. The testing was done in London, Leeds, Scotland, Zurich, Barcelona, and Stockholm. Consumers are confused by the information provided by manufacturers. They can use this [data] to see if their car is really clean Peter Mock, ICCT Europe The value of this method is that it is relatively cheap, non-intrusive, and it measures real-world conditions. Car software cannot detect it, either. “By design, the True rating is difficult if not impossible to cheat,” said the ICCT, because there are no pre-defined test conditions or protocols, nor is there any known way for a car to detect it is being sampled. The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association called the ICCT study “misleading” because, it said, Euro 6 diesel cars do in fact meet the Real Driving Emissions tests that came into effect in September 2017. By definition, however, any Euro 6 vehicle passes the official test; what the True initiative data are based on are real world conditions outside of the test protocol. The ACEA also said the new data did not evaluate cars approved to the Euro 6d standard since September 2017, so “the fact that they do not meet emissions requirements that only became mandatory after they were put on the market is not surprising”. It added that the car industry has “invested heavily to achieve significant improvements in emissions” and other studies using the “rigorous” test protocol “paint a very positive picture.” Mr Mock said the snapshot methodology used in the ICCT test is well established in China, Hong Kong and the US but less well known in Europe. Data privacy rules have played a role because the snapshot also requires a picture of the make, model, and number plate of the car. “For this you need the support of the respective authorities,” he said. This has not been a problem in the UK, Netherlands or France, “but nobody has been successful having this done in Germany”. The data classify cars into a three-colour rating system indicating their real-world driving NOx emissions. Green indicates less than 90 milligrams of NOx are emitted per kilometre of driving; yellow indicates between 90 and 180mg/km; red indicates emissions in excess of 180mg/km. No Euro 6 standard diesel engine received a green rating. BMW is the only top-selling brand to achieve a yellow rating for its diesel cars. Recommended Markets Insight Why those obituaries for diesel fuel need ripping up This data do not indicate that any of the carmakers are violating the law or cheating the tests. Rather, it is meant to be an educational tool for consumers and municipalities that want to understand the scope of the problem. Mr Mock described the database as “a safety net” to monitor the real-world regulations put in force by EU regulators, which could still be evaded by regulatory loopholes that allow, for instance, carmakers to switch off emissions control systems at certain temperatures to protect the engine. “Consumers are confused by the information provided by manufacturers,” said Mr Mock. “They can use this to see if their car is really clean.”

It means all these standards are used to gain market share for certain car makers till now and push other competitors out in the name of Standards/laws  .

.
Pakistan should Joint venture with Iranian Car makers (as long as these have good safety rating) and sell the cars cheaper than other car makers.

.
We Pakistanis drive on the left side (We call it Right hand drive since the steering wheel is on the right) . If Iran wants to sell cars in Pakistan. They have to develop cars for our roads. Iranian cars are beautifully designed, therefore if their engine is reasonably good, I am sure they will do good. Most cars in Pakistan are small 660 to 800 CC cars.
