I wasn't lucky with my phone line , if you aren't on a PMC or an old fiber optic cable (the ones for distributing phone lines not internet fiber) you can get up to 20 Mbps in Tehran , here where i live you can get 16 mbps , but still latency is high cause all data goes through Tehran for deep packet inspection , it also makes packet loss , so you can download fast but you can't play online games without lag
People in azerbaijan however use a different route so they can play with europe with low ping , that's the main reason i'm so jealous of them , they even sell you vpn connections that switches to their route , it drops your ping by some 100 ms ! i turn it on before i play call of duty
However i heard 4G is a different beast , it's not in our town yet but if it comes i guess i won't need to go through azerbaijan anymore
