Iran Ready to Undertake Development Projects in Kyrgyzstan: President Rouhani

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says the status quo in the region necessitates closer contacts among regional countries in order to make them better prepared against crises.
The Iranian president and his Kyrgyz counterpartAlmazbek Atambayevheld talks on bilateral, regional and global issues at the Kyrgyz presidential palace.
He further emphasized that despite close political and cultural ties between the two countries, the level of economic ties does not fit the capacities of the two sides.
The other documents signed by the two countries focus on enhancement of bilateral collaborations in the fields of health and medicine, culture and arts, social affairs, and combating narcotics trafficking.
"We want to have free trade with this Union", Rouhani said.
"We have also expressed joint interest in construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran railroad".
He also expressed support for full membership of Iran to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and noted that Tehran's potential can promote the global Kudos of the SCO.
Rouhani, who is on a tour to three regional countries, arrived in Kyrgyzstan on December 23 after leaving Kazakhstan.
During Rouahni's three-day tour of Central Asia, Iran signed a total of 15 cooperation agreements with the three countries in different areas, including visa requirements, banking, technical and engineering services, agriculture, and security issues.
He pointed to an upcoming EAEU meeting on December 26 and said talks were also held with the three EAEU member states on implementing the necessary measures to facilitate Iran's membership in the body in the future.
