London: The breakthrough between Israel and the United Arab Emirates reflects a shift in the modern Middle East’s foundational fault-line, as a Persian Gulf power for the first time agrees to make peace with the Jewish state. But it also shows how it’s been replaced with another, perhaps more dangerous rift over Iran.

Sitting just across the narrow Strait of Hormuz from the Islamic Republic, the UAE has been careful not to let tensions boil over into open conflict while President Donald Trump’s “maximum pressure” policy, which it backed, isolated and sanctioned Tehran, and then led to the killing of its most influential general.

But by cementing years of discreet relations with Iran’s biggest foe in a diplomatic breakthrough — a model other Persian Gulf states including heavyweight Saudi Arabia might follow — the sheikhdom is cautiously nailing its colors to the containment mast.

. . . .
Probably Turkey is the new enemy now.

Though KSA and Iran are not friendly each other, it's Shia protecting GCC countries from the invasion of Turkey. Iran has paid too much to maintain the tunnel but it's not benefiting from it. European is not welcoming Iranian in East Mediterranean.

“Unifying” a word that never existed in the ME, nor it will be! Iran is a destructive as the Saudi Arabia...

Arabs making peace with Israel is understandable. Both the Jews and the Arabs share a common Middle Eastern culture, identity and heritage. Arabs and Jews are also both genetically related to one another. They are in essence both brothers and sisters.

To think Islam came down on these clowns. Hazarat Ibrahim is probably rolling in his grave at seeing what came out of his progeny. In the end Islam will be in hands of non-Arabs.

You mean the people currently bombing Gaza and bulldozing Palestinian homes in the West Bank?

many hadits speak of the perishing of the arabs and persians before them, and that the remaining Arabs will be stationed around the capital of the Islamic caliphate Jerusalem. probably its going to be a nuclear war, or its because yajuj & majuj will kill everyone

Will be a great slaughter called Malhama whereas if a father had 100 sons 99 will be killed.

modern jews are not related to arabs. arabs are jews themselves.
Greater Israel is going to get a shape by these gcc countries and Israel . Arab sheiks have no objection to go under Israeli safety umbrella . I think Turkey or Iran , either country may have to fight with this Israeli axis .
