Iran, major powers reach historic nuclear deal

Well, it is bad news for the GCC, since the Iranian oil that has been stored, will now be able to reach the markets openly and extremely swiftly...along with more crude coming in. Analysts are already predicting oil falling down to 20-30 USD a barrel.

Not possible

Oil that low is completely uncompetitive it will destroy the shale oil comp who are already under pressure boosting oil prices again

Currently watching various coverage of the breaking news on several US news channels on this early (my time zone) morning, :coffee:

another Turkmanchay ... and I should go and buy arms ... another Iraq and Lybia is coming ...

Not really. Iran is a very powerful country with a mature people. The deal is at this stage is more beneficial to Iran than to US and its stooges. The reason is, the only leverage West had against Iran was sanctions. That option now has been taken away from them since if they try to put sanctions on Iran on any other context, Iran will pull out of this deal. Basically the nuclear program now has become a firewall against any more sanctions on Iran. A kind of deterrent.

Iran's nuclear program is here to stay and function to protect Iran either way. Now if West tries to to anything, Iran can ratchet up the game and go full nuclear. The West will not do that.

The game is going to become very interesting now. Since from now, Iran has to just sit aside and watch West tear itself apart on this deal. Obama will have to battle congress and Israel. It is going to be a hot show. Very funny to see, Obama lobbying for Iran. Who would have thought a US president being forced to capitulate and fight for Iran's interests both inside and outside his country. This point alone makes the deal worthwhile.

Bad news for India. Now China and Pakistan will take away the Chabahar port from you Bharatis!!

Bye bye Chabahar. China and Pakistan will rule the middle east.

Well , Saddam and Qaddafi were fooling themselves with same things ....

Why you are saying like that ? It's not like you are losing land....

losing land will be natural result of this kind of treaty , it will come , slowly but painfully ...

The sanctions were put on Iran because of your nuclear program. If you pull out for whatever reason and fire it up again - you will be bombed back to the middle age.

Not really. Saddam had been militarily defeated by US and its entire military machine destroyed. Iran has not been militarily defeated. Furthermore, both Qaddafi and Saddam did not have a nuclear program on the scale that Iran has. Neither had enriched a single gram of uranium nor had they any functional reactor in addition to not having the human resources for the job if push came to shove.

If push comes to shove, Iran can go full scale in matters of weeks. The capacity exists and as American Generals themselves have admitted, the learned knowledge can not be bombed away. Qaddafi and Saddam did not have the knowledge Iran has.

But I sympathise with your view. If Iran had become nuclear armed, it would have been on a whole different level but at a great cost to economy. Iran's leaders have to take into account all sides of the equation. The welfare of the people vs. geostrategic security. Still the option remains if Iran could not benefit from the deal as expected. In fact in 2005, Iran did walk away from an earlier deal when Europe refused to give Iran what Iranians wanted.

Good for oil buying nations if oil price drops, But I think Iran now can demand more price for their oil because of the flexibility they will have in selling oil now after sanctions.

Yes the profit margin of GCC nations will decrease for sure.

Come on dude, you know no such thing will happen. :)

You are an idiot.

If Iran could be bombed, they would have bombed Iran. They would not even think twice.
Defeating Iran militarily is not terribly difficult for the Allies. Its what happens after.
The U.S. war in Iraq has cost $1.7 trillion with an additional $490 billion in benefits owed to war veterans, expenses that could grow to more than $6 trillion over the next four decades counting interest, a study released on Thursday said.

That is semantics.

And neither it is only financial cost. Iran is the only stable country in a region that is being over-run by Wahabi fanatics. Times have changed. US has even dropped Israel for this deal. That was a taboo in American politics since 1960s.

US is preparing for a strategic shift in the region. Read 1972 US-China deal. Iran-US deal is pretty much that.
