So you admit that US and Saudi Arabia are arm twisting Pakistan on this pipeline. We cannot even build a pipeline in our territory ? While India, China and Turkey buys billions of dollars of energy from Iran.

You're mincing your words sir. I have my reservations that Saudi-Arabia will lose any sleep in relationship to the Pakistan-Iran pipeline deal. It's not a 'game changer' in any way shape or form and does not constitute a paradigm-shift in Pakistan's foreign-policy with regards to Riyadh. In the grand scheme of things, it's in Pakistan interest to build a rapport with neighbouring countries for her growth and progression.

Nice except you forgot that the only reason India increased their imports was when EU and USA eased sanctions against Iran because they agreed to nuclear negotiations hence they were allowed to sell oil without penalties and when we had signed the deal we were specifically warned that we would be sanctioned as well hence why we did not take a risk. We need this gas more than anyone. But a mix of our governments being useless and the threat of sanctions we simply could not afford to build the pipeline and start importing gas. Please do remember who signed the agreement, Zardari probably the most useless incompetent leader in Pakistans entire history. He doesn't even know how to read or spell and he became a president because of his wife's death coupled with the fact that during his end he signed this agreement, a uneducated fool who wanted to show he did something, when in fact he bought us backwards 60 years.

Along with Turkey, large-scale oil consumers such as China, India and South Korea are not on the US list of exemptions. Banks of the privileged countries will not face any sanctions, which could include measures such as being excluded from the US financial system, for six months. The US expects those countries wanting an exemption to substantially reduce their oil imports from Iran in the near future.

India has reportedly warned the US over Washington’s recent threats of imposing sanctions against New Delhi unless it significantly reduces imports of Iranian oil by June 28-2012. Now this is called SPINE...unlike some who hide their tails between their legs...on one hand they are your religious brothers on the other you do not have the balls to defy the Amreecans.

Pakistan can also pay in rupees which could be used to Iran to buy Rice, Wheat and other Pakistani products. But Nawaz Sharif has no backbone.

Isn't America one of the most hated country in Pakistan. Aren't they responsible for killing innocent civilians through drone attacks...aren't you the mard-e-momin....will eat grass but not surrender to the enemies....then why not show some guts and defy the US and buy oil from Iran. I am sure Pakistani awaam will support it. Look at the oil crisis in your country....how is the Americans helping you in that front...all they will do is give you their used weapons and make you fight their war in different countries. First as a nation decide whether you are America's hired mercenary and patsy or you have an identity of your own.

Gas pipeline can be built and we buy the gas when sanctions are lifted. We cannot even build a pipeline in our own country ? India buys nearly 4 million barrels a month but they dont get warning. Turkey is buying gas from Iran. Did we get a nod from US to finish the fourth Chashma Nuclear plant too ?

Come on India was buying oil worth billions of Rupees. It was the then Congress government which was a minority government, with a BJP majority government it is now easy to take firm decision in the nations interest....it has nothing to do with the new US-Iranian friendship.

mate give us 1 good sincere government in Pakistan 1 leader who doesn't take kickbacks and Pakistan would not be in the position it is today, the fact of the matter is that we are in such a mess from sects mullahs terrorists corrupt governments that we need a lot of time before we can do anything or take bold steps or have a spine as you say.
