IR SPOT/FD

The IR spot/flood lens, which is an infrared equivalent to a flashlight, provides the soldier with expanded and improved shabanoor night vision goggles performance under extremely dark conditions.

The IR spot / flood lens accessory converts the standard Shabanoor IR illuminator from a diffuse light source, covering much more than the goggles field of view, to a beam of light that can be focused from 20° to 50°. Because the beam through the IR spot / flood lens is much more intense, the beam is usable beyond 50 meters.

Although the IR light is active and can be seen by other using image intensification equipment the soldier’s covertness is improved outside the field of view because stray illumination is greatly reduced.
