Einstein was one of the co-signatory of Szilard petition drafted by Leo-Szilard co-signed by 69 other scientists and politicians to argue for US to start it's own nuclear program as Germany has started it's own. That petition was drafted by Szilard with aid of Edward Teller and Eugene Wigner.Einstein played no role in manhattan project.


2. E=mc2 is a one of the many derived equation of Special theory of relativity. It was not even required to manufacture Nuclear Bomb. It do explain that from where does massive amount of Energy come from, but even if Engineers did not knew fron where does this energy come from, they would have developed nuclear weapon as long as they knew the mechanics of a fission reaction( How it happens?).

Since you are at blaming scientists, you should also blame Newton and Wright brothers as Nuke also has fins and Parachute for slowing down it's decent.

Nuclear bomb is not based on E=mc^2 equation.
When a heavy nucleus strikes another is breaks that up , the broken masses strikes other and the chain reaction continues. Any mass that is sufficient to sustain ,chain reaction is called super critical mass(I'm not sure about the name) , beyond that super critical mass the reaction is not controllable and it blows up.
It basically uses nuclear fission.
On the other hand a thermo nuclear device uses nuclear fusion, which needs high temperature to initiate,hence the word thermo. The high temperature is created by nuclear fission.
Everything in this world is dependent on Mass-Energy equation , but nuclear bomb isn't based on that. It's like telling Newton developed ballistic missiles , because last stage delivery depends on gravity.
Hopefully I am accurate with facts, correct me if I am not.
