TEHRAN: Hairstyles of a spiky and unorthodox nature have reportedly been banned in Iran because they imply devil-worship, while tattoos and other male bodily adornments also being outlawed.

Jagged haircuts have become fashionable among all strata of Iran's youthful population in recent years, but have divided opinion and been deemed by the authorities as western and un-Islamic.

"Devil worshipping hairstyles are now forbidden," said Mostafa Govahi, the head of Iran's Barbers Union, cited by the ISNA news agency.

"Any shop that cuts hair in the devil worshipping style will be harshly dealt with and their licence revoked," he said, noting that if a business cut hair in such a style this will "violate the Islamic system's regulations".

As well as tattoos being banned, solarium treatments and the plucking of eyebrows — another rising trend among young Iranian males — will not be tolerated, the report said.

Govahi blamed unauthorized barbers for offering the spiky hairstyles and other treatments.

"Usually the barber shops who do this do not have a licence. They have been identified and will be dealt with," he said.

The Barbers Union represents only male hairdressers in Iran, with female stylists having a separate trade organization.

Iranian youth's looks to me well secular and liberal. Wont they protest against such comedy rulings?

Well the religious Mullahs folks ruling Iran seem to want to bring the country backward to the dark ages period. They are making rules which makes the country look pretty close to Wahabist KSA. They are lucky though, since they have very skilled/smart scientists but unfortunatey their politicians are clueless religious Mullahs who have been doing more harm to the country than good. I also red that they even banned women from going to national statdiums/watching football matches with their male counterparts

As i said too much religion is never a good thing for a country. makes people act irrationally. This is just sooo stupid i dont even know where to begin.lool
Anyway let them keep it up, no wonder many of their citizens/women emmigrate to the west/U.S when they can, and prefer to live/settle here for good. They are welcome though, i wouldnt mind, since i must confess they indeed got some gorgeous/beautiful women.:smitten: :enjoy: Though judging by my hairstyle, i would probably end up behind bars in Iran(since i might be a devil worshipper).:undecided:

Good move, we don't want our kids to grow to be sissy faggots. So West can exploit them for their own good after they finish brainwashing them with their culture.

Anyway i guess you had nothing much valuable to contribute to the thread, reason you avoid discussing the subject at hand. You should instead be worried your leaders/religious leaders are getting more radical and making such backward decisions which wil make the whole world laugh if they heard such a thing to be honest.
its your culture . we've got our own .

there is nothing to discuss . backwards decision ? not at all . we view things differently .

sorry man . no devil worshipping crap over here .

tnx , but no tnx

Why are you living in the US then?

Lool 9 out of ten about Iran?? You must be confusing me. Im more focus on East Asia and Russia. Since those are the countries/region i find interesting/challenging, since they have very good living standards(usually at par with the west)/are advanced/industrilaised/forward looking(no time to waste on religious wars like in ME.lol) and indeed have more interesting/exciting development stories going on there. Iran(though its one of the most advanced in ME) and other ME countries dont really have much to even make the west/U.S be worried about(well apart from religious wars sunni vs shias stuffs, ISIS, etc).

Hahaha I think its waaay too late for that, theyre not only becoming sissy faggots but theyre ready going under the knife and being transformed into females and wearing Hijabs due to your supreme leader's "fatwa"

Sure it was "elected"...you said it and I believed it.

Referendum is not an alien word to me...in fact let me educate you even further....referendum in regards to choosing political leadership does not equal democracy as there is no other opposing party. Please enlighten me who is an alternative to the Ayatollahs? The "Supreme-leaders"? Please do not confuse referendum with elections.

Referendum in proper democracies is held on a social issue, for example raise in minimum wage or some other social law which a good segment of public wants to be legalized or introduced.
