Iran: 4 Saudi Children Die from Poisoning in Hotel; 28 Hospitalized

They did it to the Shia visitors of Mashhad because they are Arabs. The act appears to be deliberate. This is another lesson for Shia Arabs to know what the Persian brotherhood feels like.

This whole Persian 'hate game' is doing things to your mind. I'm worried about you.

'Authorities' in Iran are extremely incompetent. Management and discipline died in late 70's in that country.

I disagree, have you ever visited Iran?.

When there is nether strict rules nor humanity then killing innocents are acceptable. I really wish it is not a crime but the number of victims and why all of them are Saudis make it hard to believe that it was incident. I live in Makkah which gives me the chance to meet a lot of Iranians, we have never thought to do such a horrible act to them. All the time, they are welcome to visit us and when they need help, Saudis people well give a hand before the authorities do.

i find it interesting that despite all he hurrdurr and hard talk from both sides, Saudi children travel to Iran. Relations can't be that bad then. Or what?

RIP to poor children, very unfortunate.

JEDDAH: The Foreign Ministry has summoned the Iranian ambassador to express its concern over the deaths of four Shiite Saudi children in his country, and to urge Tehran to speed up its investigation.
Osama Nugali, head of media at the Saudi Foreign Ministry, said there was “deep sorrow” in government at the news that four young Saudis had died and 28 others got sick from what appears to be a poisonous chemical they had inhaled while in their rooms in Mashhad on Sunday.
“The Saudi Foreign Ministry summoned the Iranian ambassador to the Kingdom and expressed its deep concern at the incident, and its hope that the Iranian authorities speed up the investigation and disclose the circumstances involved,” he said.
Nugali said that shortly after the incident occurred, the charge d’affaires and officials at the consulate in Mashhad went to the hotel to check on the Saudis and provide support, including, medical care.
The embassy also communicated with the Iranian Foreign Ministry and other departments in Mashhad to launch an investigation. “The incident is a matter of concern and the Saudi government is following up on the case,” Nugali said.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Health Minister Hassan Hashemi was reported as saying on Tuesday that the Saudis “may have been deliberately poisoned.”
Hashemi said that the poison was from a fumigation operation in the hotel where the Saudis were staying. Traces of this poison were found in samples of blood taken from the deceased, but a probe was under way, he said.
Hashemi said 32 Saudi visitors were poisoned, of whom four died and seven are being treated in the intensive care unit of a local hospital.
Mohammad Qanie, president of the hotel owners’ association in Mashhad, in northeast Iran, said the manager of Al-Tawhid Hotel in the city was arrested and the building closed. The hotel was licensed and had no previous problems, he said.

If foul play is indeed involved KSA should suspend all travels to Iran. Such despicable and cowardly actions should have consequences.

Those 4 dead children and their families are Saudi Arabian Shia Twelver's and they solely travelled to Iran for "religious pilgrimage". More precisely visiting tombs/burial sites of long dead Hijazi Arabs belonging to Prophet Muhammad (saws) family (Ahl al-Bayt).

Your kind don't have brothers, everyone in the region hates you, and they have a good reason to do so.
Your kind is the kind not only everyone in the region hate and fight but also from 10 thosands of km away people come to participate in bombing you guys.

Yeah, because it wasn't deliberate, it only caught the Saudi visitors. It missed everyone, except them.

Such a high level of intellectual capacity you just shown dear. It's because all those foreigners in the hotel were Saudis! As a Saudi, don't you know that in Umrah and Hajj, many of Mecca and Median's hotels are designated for only one country? Is is too strange?

No it isn't strange, I have seen the hotels that Persians rent in Mecca and was surprised to see Khoemni's pictures hanging in the lobby. I was passing by and saw that from the glass door. The same goes for Khaminai's pictures. You guys didn't even save the world from that unnecessary confusion in the name of the two terrific leaders .

To answer your surprise, yes, no other hotel was ever subject to such pesticide poisoning in Mashhad. Not on that day, nor on other days. Yeah, pesticide poisoning to make sure it works. And only at the peak of this proxy war that spectacular coincidence happened.
