Investing in Pakistani property, safe?

So I want to invest in Pakistan, but advised not to by almost everyone here. Their reason being is Kabza mafia. Since the mafia knows we're foreigners and have no time to fight a lenghty court battle about the ownership of property, they happily take over it. Plus if all else fail, they threaten to kidnap/kill if the owner visits Pakistan.


Is this true still? There is much to invest in and I rather not invest in something that is a complete worry.

When I lived in Pakistan, this guy who was building the house died. So these 2 families (pakhtoon) fought over ownership of dead man's land, saying it belonged to them. Funny thing is, the two were also distance relatives and neighbours.

I prefer to invest in peshawar/adjoining areas.
Invest in Bahria Town, DHAs and Emaar's projects. They are expensive to invest at the moment but could easily double of tripple within a year while being safe at the same time. One of my friend rejected a flat in bone-vista in 150,000,000 a year ago. Now when we looked there for the purchase, the same property was available in 450,000,000.

What I have noticed is that some people living on rent are real trouble and a major pain in the ***. They don't pay the rent, they ravage the house and they create all sorts of unnecessary problems. Investing in Pakistan is difficult because of red tape, corruption and bribery while also because people refuse to pay up.

Thats my experiance. You might say is take them to court but that takes a lot of time and patience.

Bahria is private. Defence is suitable and secured option. as it is backed by army.

What is the total cost of Plots in Bahria Town Karachi?
For 125 sq.yards, 250 sq.yards and 500 sq.yards.

Also tell me the payment plans for these as well.

Bharia town's market is just like stock exchange. The rates of the plots keep rising and falling. I know a guy who invests in bahria town may give you his number if you so desire.

Lol at "paid for". You know why the woman was shot dead by Taji Khokhar? Because she wasn't selling her land for a couple of thousands. I know a number of people who weren't paid a single penny for their land. I have a friend who has actually worked for these guys and witnessed their harkatein first hand, so don't tell me these men are lawful.

As for the shia sunni issue. It was brought by the Punjabis. It's not a part of our culture. Sorry I'm not too much into political correctness. Truth needs to be told once in a while.



So Potohar belongs to the Potoharis or the Punjabis? Where is "your land" here? So if people of say, Chakwal, want to separate from Punjab, you'll attack them in Chakwal for wanting to do so?



America was built on the basis of immigrants. Have you ever asked the native Americans what they think of all these Spanish, Germans etc? Most Seraikis want a separate province. We(and they) are governed like a colony.


After spending all my life in Rawalpindi and having friends from Mianwali to Chawal (Talagun) I never heard of this thing getting separated from Punjab lol but after hearing from you all I can say is I am disappointed, but No one can dare to take an inch of our Punjab. :sick:

Their prices are already super high (since they're developed). Since I'm not living in Pakistan, I want long term investment. Something like investing in a place which is not very populated and 10-20 years forward, as shops, plazas, more homes are made and less available property is available, then sell for high price.

Prefer to buy acres of land for same price as I'd pay for few kanal of land in Bahria.

But question is, do land mafia exist as I hear it? Or it's something that is exxagerated?
Try to travel to Sheikhupura towarda Faisalabad hell lot of land ans quite safe as well just keep a good dealer and a well educated Pakistani friend with you...

And yeah Bahria Town and DHA both have future investment plans that's a brilliant option....they do have housing plans at non populated areas...ask them for their future investment...

and your same truth earned you asylum in Australia? just be honest.. once for this time !

BTW... there are villages inside Bahria and DHA and unsold lands around... why than those lands are out of Bahria / DHA approach?

Actually, govt. should help vacate those lands and pas them on to developers of repute, obviously DHA and Bahria.

No need to worry, he don't live in Pakistan. Probably already got nationality of other country or still trying to get. :pop:

@ OP - Invest where money circulate and more people get benefits instead of being mean and looking for your own benefits or builder mafia's.

Yeah happened here before.

"Why should we care, it's not like our home." Also they were over due 6 months of payment and kept saying they've receipts to show they've paid for it.

In the event of war, does the army have authority to take over property? I heard in the Cantt area, the property is owned by people but technically it's under the army. So if war is to occur, they'd be using the property for the time.

Also is the DHA run by army as in institution or it's some retired general? I'd prefer to help army out with profits before Malik Riaz.

In the event of ware state can utilize any property if needed, it will not ask your permission to defend country.

Army itself don't run any institution, retired officers work there and profits of these entities are used for welfare of soldiers/officers and their families.
