Int'l standard railways system being established in Pakistan: Ahsan
Planning Minister says that international standard railway system is being laid down in Pakistan. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is set to increase freight in Pakistan of goods produced locally, and transited between China and Gwadar, for which an efficient railway system is being planned. Pakistan will be able to generate huge revenue based on this freight, which will help enhance other public infrastructure and result in a trickledown generated by CPEC.
Planning Minister said the performance of Railways has improved and it has become a profitable entity.
Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal says due to better planning and efforts, the performance of Railways has improved and it has become a profitable entity.
Talking to Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique in Islamabad, he said Railways is the backbone of our economy. He stressed the need to revamp it for further improvement in communication and transportation system.
