Indian external affairs ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin in a tweet, posted: "India 2 provide #Pakistan consular access to injured prisoner Sanaullah Ranjay once he is in Chandigarh & medical arrangements are in place."

"Pakistani prisoner Sanaullah Ranjay receiving medical treatment. His present condition is stable, but he remains under medical watch."

Pakistan had Friday demanded immediate release and repatriation of Sanaullah who was attacked in the high security Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu.

It also asked for evacuation of the prisoner by an air ambulance, including assistance in ground facilitation.

Sanaullah was critically injured when he was attacked by a fellow prisoner, police in Jammu on Friday, a day after Indian death row prisoner Sarabjit Singh died following brutal attack on him in a Lahore jail.

A resident of Sialkot, he was attacked by a former Indian Army soldier, convicted for murder, following an altercation Friday morning, a police officer said.

He received serious head injuries and was taken to the Government Medical College Hospital in Jammu, where doctors said he had slipped into a coma, much like Sarabjit Singh who was attacked in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat Jail on April 26 and died Thursday.

Police said Sanaullah was being tried for murder since the late 1990s for carrying out acts of militancy in Jammu and Kashmir. Agencies

I hope he gets better, I do not want to see India which behaves like animals. It is unfortunate that in this part of the world we are still like animals. This reflects a lot in how we think about our environment.

Its not enough to get education, it is needed that we start behaving like civilized world. We should learn the civilized way from a country like United States.

this is indeed a good news that he is still alive or I thought that he.......................

instead that pakistanis and indians are blaming and bashing each other...i suggest that main flaw is related to maintenance of security system inside our jails!

Get him the best medical care in the country.

TiT for tat retaliations.. what else is new for the two kids?

Good news. Nobody deserves to die like this.

Remember what Parvateshwar says in Immortals of Meluha - ''They may be terrorists, but we are Suryavanshis''!

Absolutely. We don't have to become what we are being forced to fight.

Apparently the jail administration of Jammu jail doesn't agree with you guys.

Good news. They should provide better security in jails to pakistani prisoners, may be isolate them and deny access to common area at same time as others.
