Injured Pakistani prisoner in India dies: reports
ISLAMABAD: Sanaullah Haq, a Pakistani prisoner who was critically injured after being brutally attacked by another inmate in central Jammu jail in Indian-administered Kashmir, died Saturday, DawnNews reported.
However, there was no official confirmation from either the Pakistani High Commission or the Indian High Commission yet.
Doctors at the hospital in Chandigarh where Sanaullah was being kept are scheduled to brief the media at 6 pm Indian time.
Haq was said to have been in a coma and in a severely critical condition after the revenge attack.
Reports had earlier said that Haq was on ventilator, and doctors had been maintaining his blood pressure with dopamine and noradrenaline infusions.
The attack had come a day after a convicted Indian spy Sarabjit Singh died after being bludgeoned with a brick by fellow inmates at a Pakistani prison.
Pakistans Foreign Ministry called the jail attack in Indian-administered Kashmir an obvious retaliation for the killing of the Indian prisoner.
