Prima facie the OP has no idea how economy works, it would have been better to consult a friend or two as to why SBP raised the discount rates? what are they trying to achieve? what will be the ultimate effect if the increase in discount rates, increases the cost of doing business for corporate entities, will their E.P.S be positive or negative compared to last year, what will happen to the bank earnings.

What will happen to the stock market, what will be impact on our CAD, imports, exports etc. All pertinent questions but irrelevant for OP. Paper currency has its pros and it has its cons, better read up a few articles outlining both Pros and Cons.
