India for the first time flew in a Hercules C 130 J to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) opposite China. It is the first time that a Hercules C-130J has landed at the Daulat Beg Oldi airstrip, which is at an altitude of 16,600 feet. In April, an eye-to-eye contact between India and China happened near this airstrip. This one was to tell the Chinese: Don't mess with us again!

An unarmed cargo plane lands near China and this is an indication that don't mess with us again? Like Seriously? Might have as well just sent them a bouquet of roses.

For a TT on a defence forum, you should have appreciated the importance of this exercise. FYI, you might want to check up on Op Chequerboard and Op Falcon vis-a-vis Indo-China skirmish of 1986-87. You would understand the significance of landing an "unarmed cargo plane" near China.

you have the mental fortitude of those shrillers I knew it!- Those images you posted, are of an Apache from a crash. It was not brought down. Per your IQ level - all one has to do is deploy shoulder firing anti aircraft missles and you would not need an air force in anyone's military

What has that got to do with me being a Jr Think Tank?

The reason i wrote my comment the way i did is as if something impossible has been achieved. I read the same on other Indian news article. Please explain to me how a C-130 deployed to do what it was designed to do related to an Airforce 'flexing it's muscle' ?

If IAF flew say, SU-30 over there and dropped some bombs towards China, yes i would say that is flexing the muscles, but c-130, seriously?

It's called 'Hercules' for a reason.

It will land where ever the hell it wants to land.

In case of hostilities, what would you prefer to protect your positions.
1) A Sukhoi dropping some bombs and returning OR
2) A C-130 delivering a brigade with weapons?
