India's Reliance Defence signs pact with Russian arms firm as Modi visits Moscow!

I wonder if Tejas was being built by Reliance, they would have forced several squadrons of mark I on IAF by now. Will Indian Armed Forces be able to be as demanding with Reliance Defence as they are with HAL? Reliance will first ask fr huge advance and then say take it or leave it.
We know AK Antony delayed defence procurement and we are feeling the pinch after a decade but if we be foolishly liberal and get pvt players, it will hurt us more after a decade. I just hope there is some system working in the national interest.

When IA can be happy with T-90 tincans without AC, APS , downgraded gun & faulty engine then they would be ordered thousand of Tejas if appropriate amount sent to Air Marshals kitty.
After all Jaguars flying decades with faulty navigation.

Thats stretched a little far. After all pvt indian players are indians too but my worry is that they and their employees will not be under governmental control. Today if a public sector employee wants to travel abroad, he will have to take prior permission from the govt. and when they apply, they immediately come under intelligence radar. but employees of pvt.companies travel as per their wish, they can leave jobs and join a rival company abroad. these are smaller risk areas that needs to be considered. also, pvt players should be able to compete globally and risk being rejected by their domestic market. DRDO and HAL do a lot of things but our armed forces reject them outright if they are not satisfied. DRDO and HAL will never attempt to bribe to get their products accepted but i cant say this about Reliance. Until Tata, mahindra and L&T were manufacturing for the army, such questions never came to mind. but cant help it if such is the reputation of reliance.

I don't question it but the problem is TATA & L&T, Bharat Forge have worked in strategic are like Nuclear , ABM, Ballistic missile, Submarine for decades & have tonnes of experience under belt. They are well adjusted in defense era. They have well established corporate culture.
But Ambanis brothers are operate their companies like one man show & get low for any level. Giving them access in strategic area is two edge sword.
Reliance does not have reputation in any are which enjoyed by L&T, TATA, Ashok Leyland, Mahindra, Bharat Forge, Astra Microwave etc.

Good news for Indian Defence sector. How and why the Reliance was chosen for this deal is not clear. They are not as much respected as Tatas, L&T or public sector. But I hope they wont just be focussed on their profits.
sir , reliance has huge investments in defense sector , recently they also acquired controling stake in pipavav defense and by acquiring the same they are one of 3 companies apart from mazagon docks and l&t which can make submarines .
