The Portuguese were the colonist from hell and mistreated natives and forcibly converted to them to Catholicism including the Syriac Christians on Malabar coast. Mughal rule was like alliance with many Hindu Kingdoms from Afghanistan to Bengal to Deccan but the difference between Mughals and Britisher was this that Mughals havnt transfered the Indian treasures and made India thier homeland but in case of British it was a bit different as they saw India as Colony.

The Mughals spent their treasure on building monuments and their luxuries and spent in the South Asia. While British East India looted the regional kingdoms and shipped it to Britain. They created mercantilism where South Asia was the closed market for the British goods and local industry was ruthlessly destroyed.
