Go to an Indian forum and insult their country and see what they do to you---.
There is an Indian defense forum where one of PDF's ex-members openly celebrated the death of our first CDS Bipin Rawat. After a few posts he was given a warning and no more - no ban nothing. There are also some Indian forums which insult Pakistanis a lot. PDF has degraded a lot by design and people need to be cognizant of it. Now Indian members here do not get the opportunity to disrespect Pakistan while Pakistani and Chinese members openly insult us. Merely blaming the rise of Hindutva sentiments amongst a section of Indians as a cause of animosity towards Indians doesn't cut it. It's analogous to saying that on average India is doing better than Pakistan and so India is fine.

That's because of the boorish behaviour and sense of superiority displayed by a certain section of the public. These people will not show off in front of a westerner.

There always was an underlying sense of Hindutva which never really got national prominence due to the ruling political parties. This is not always to the credit of the politicians, but its just that the voting patterns ensured that manipulative politicians who professed to be secular got to rule India.

All of a sudden with the rule of BJP a section of Indians did not become pro-Hindutva, rather the ruling BJP allowed the flowering of this sentiment. This is similar to the internet fueling our dark fantasies and at times even revealing detrimental aspects of our behaviour which we did not even realise.

Do you really think that Pakistanis on PDF became anti-India due to BJP? Not at all. This anti-India sentiment was always there. It got a fresh impetus because of the overall dynamics of the Indo-Pak relationship. How many Pakistani members keep thinking that the Pak armed forces are superior to the Indian ones? Our armed forces are as dumb or intelligent as our masses. So why do we keep thinking that our armies have the highest standards of thought processes?

The PDF management has allowed these anti-India inflammatory and mocking posts from Pakistani and Chinese members for reasons best known to them. We can guess though.

I can be very courteous to you but totally against your way of life, and think that your way of life, religion etc are thrash. Is this thought process of any value? An an example, Europeans are courteous towards us, but don't they exhibit a look-down-upon attitude towards us? Just because Pakistanis talk well with a boorish section of Indians, it does not mean that Pakistanis are intellectually better. The way your ruling class has managed to run Pakistan is testimony to how smart you are. This simple aspect needs to be understood.

Whats that defense forum called thats reasonable? I found one but it was a cesspool of basically bjp supporters.

BJP won a landslide victory in the elections. Hindutva is the majority in India.
This is an incomplete understanding but has been made popular here because of the choice PDF has made to give respect to only a section of Indian posters who post along certain lines only. BJP won in the backdrop of a very lacklusture performance of the previous UPA government. People can sense if a ruling party can offer anything substantial or not. If there is an underlying pro-Hindutva party that offers dreams of economic prosperity and efficiency to the majority, then why should voters not choose the pro-Hindutva party? The economic performance of Gujarat under Modi gives rise to such positive feelings - what is the percentage of Hindu middle class that cares about tribals and adivasis losing their rights and the 2002 Gujarat riots - when there is an underlying sentiment that other secular parties offer bad and corrupt governance and only thrive on Muslim appeasement (which is not entirely wrong). What about the 1984 Sikh riots done by the Congress?

Just look at Pakistan. You gave votes to Imran Khan because of a Naya Pakistan dream he offered. How successful has he been? So what is wrong in giving votes to Modi if he promises economic prosperity. And his pro-Hindutva credentials only add to the voting sentiment. Will Modi's rule harm us - of course it will harm us quite a lot, but his rule also has positive aspects which will show up in due course of time.

I don't know about Pakistan. But I am sure that 99.99% of the anti India Chinese netizens, they oppose India because they meet Anti China Indian netizens on the Internet. Ordinary Chinese don't know or care about India at all.
Indian netizens are notorious on the Internet. India, South Korea, Poland, Turkey, Vietnam. Netizens from these five countries are simply the P5 members of the keyboard-warrior.

I do not know of any Indian defense forum that is not majorly pro BJP as of now. If you are in such forums you have to navigate through the pro BJP sentiment. Nowadays PDF is also a cesspool of India-mocking members. But there are some decent guys out here, but they choose to show a persona of themselves which might also be more of a virtual identity than what he/she is in person. The danger is that sometimes the demarcation between virtual and actual identities can get blurred.

A hint is that this forum is Strategic.

One should not expect a defense forum to be non-right wing. The arms industry and its fans are usually right-wing. Even the Soviet Union was right wing if you define a flawed belief in one's supremacy and being blind to other viewpoints as being an aspect of right-wing sentiments.

There will be more anti-Chinese Indians than anti-Indian Chinese and that's because we have more access to information, however doctored this information may be. I think that since the CCP heavily regulates and manipulates information and China is much more powerful than India, the CCP had no reason to demonise Indians. Plus there is no cultural baggage for the average Chinese to be antagonistic towards Indians. If tomorrow the CCP finds India to be a credible challenge then much more anti-India sentiment will be cultivated amongst the ordinary Chinese. I'm sure that the average Chinese has an unfavourable opinion about Japan because of the Japanese invasion.

Is short term economic growth worth turning India into a communal warzone and ruining its international reputation as a secular and tolerant Asian state?

Modi's 2019 election campaign revolved around the failed balakot airstrike. Imagine if the US president ordered some botched airstrike on Russia which resulted in international humiliation for the US. Then the next day he would boast about it as some great victory. He would be impeached or voted out. Hell, even Ayub Khan lost popularity after 1965 despite the propaganda. Modi, on the other hand, gained popularity.

Republic TV, a hindu nationalist outlet, is the most popular channel in India.

If you randomly pick 100 Indians and ask them for their political views - most of them will likely be Hindu Nationalist. Just try messaging some random Indians on social media if you want.

If you live in a big city/town, you will probably be surrounded by more liberal people and think otherwise. Remember, the vast majority of Indians live in rural areas.

I can go the other way round and ask whether the concept of socialism and sustanence of brotherhood towards Muslims (the secular parties did not make Indian Muslims feel unwanted but did not do much for their betterment either) is worth the loss of economic growth. One could have argued that with high economic growth and prosperity we would become more secular. But now we know that economic growth leading to secularisation may not have easily happened.

Politicians do what they do and we vote them in.

No one other than the governments know what happened on 26-27 Feb 2019. Go to a decent Indian defence forum and they will logically counter your view just like you counter us here.

Republic TV is part of the effort to shore up Hindutva sentiments. As of now we're much poorer cousins of Pakistan in doing such things. We Indians are foolish not to understand where it can lead us.

I already mentioned that there always was an undercurrent of nationalist Hindutva sentiment amongst a significant chunk of the Hindus. It was lying dormant. BJP backed by the RSS and its affiliates is allowing it to grow. The common man has no time to think of the consequences of this. He's busy with his daily struggles and is just ignorant and enamoured by it. Is it really very different from Pakistan and Bangladesh? Welcome to the subcontinent where we do not have strong institutions that can prevent this intellectual slide.

Accurate.

Your posts are refreshingly balanced and quite accurate. Not just this one.

But you can also see how easily us humans are manipulated and those actions from the manipulation causing further chaos ahead. India is playing this propaganda a lot more than China is (towards each other) precisely due to reasons you said.

Anti-Japan attitudes in China honestly is reducing a lot compared to in the past. Most people are honestly more anti-USA than Japan or even India.

I would say of Chinese people within China, that if here are 100 people sample size, 85 are pro government and 15 are anti-government. out of the 85 pro government, only 50 will have anti-other opinion and of this 50, 25 would be anti-USA, 15 would be anti-Japan, 5 would be anti-India, and 5 would be anti-all three lol.

What a dishonest post full of lies!!!

Your nation voted for Modi because of his "performance" in 2002 Gujarat riots and not because of some promised economic prosperity

And not just modi. Your nation votes for BJP overwhelmingly after every riot

BJP gains in polls after every riot, says Yale study

Your nation loves to vote for murderers and rapists who "performed" good in communal riots. Your nation even comes out in support of rapists and murderers of an 8 years old Muslim girl and that too with national flags

Kathua Rape Victim's Family Forced To Flee From Village After A Call Of Protest

Don't you dare compare that to Pakistanis who voted for Imran Khan for eradication of corruption and economic prosperity. We are not like your morally bankrupt nation
There is an Indian defense forum where one of PDF's ex-members openly celebrated the death of our first CDS Bipin Rawat.

Your nation even cheered the death of muslims thousand kilometers away in New Zealand

Again. Don't you dare compared your morally deranged nation with mine. We may not be perfect but we are nothing like you
