Modi is the biggest problem, but not the only problem.
India does not have sufficient testing capacity, especially in rural areas. They simply cannot figure out how many people are infected and how many people have died in rural areas.

Trusting the data was the context, otherwise COVID score in various countries are daily feed.
Anyway.... if we take the context a bit further, i wonder how can govt. of Pakistan formulate travel policy for India and Iran, while the data provided by both states is considered unreliable.
I think we can't even trust Iran's immigration process.

According to these projections, India is passing through a phase of approx. 13 million cases per day. And the trend has already started its journey downward, which is a good thing for the entire region.

Pakistan's data is not rosy as well.

But yes, something needs to be done soon, but I don't expect. Haven't we seen how we ignored travel ban on UK when the new variant was on a destruction course there? UK on the other hand banned travel to and from Pakistan.

My worry is that how many are being tested. If official figures are ~5000 per day and the projected figures based on scientific data analysis say 200,000, then we are only identifying 40 times less cases (similar to India). Lack of identification leads to lack of tracking and tracing.

Problem with UK is that all our elite from political as well as military have presence in UK. Either their families are there or their children studying in the UK. Hence no surprises that when it comes to UK we cannot adopt tough measures.

Pakistan did very well at the onset of disease, when state banned travel to & from China, but why writ of state collapsed later is a matter which MUST be investigate by a judicial commission.
At least state should have close down direct travel routes to COVID ridden countries, which they did not, so blaming citizens is not an admissible excuse!

UK banned only tourism travel to and from Pakistan and as well with rest of the world.
Travel for business and few other selected reasons is allowed conditionally.
