Mamta claimed that 80% of the water from Farakka Barrage goes to Bangladesh. Just where did she get that 80% from?

AP claimed that China was blocking the water, and many people in this very forum believed that as fact.

All these talks of river linking has been going on since 60s. We will talk like this for 100 more years because the states wont agree to it.
Then there is international law to abide by.
Last of all, where is the money?

As I said, it is not feasible for Bangladesh to rely on India on the issue. It has to address this itself by having feasible water management strategies.

The whole river link project is meant to be beneficial to Indian states which have acute shortage of water. Quite a good project. With reference to Brahmaputra. India and BD should come to a consensus on water sharing and work out a solution and an agreement assuming BD is heavily dependent on the waters of the Brahmaputra.

@Topic: I don't see why we should address Indian interests any longer in Bangladesh. The Hasina government has done enough and has shown the results. Best if we address the issue ourselves other than relying on India.

And as far the transit is concerned, the government does not appear to be clear or transparent over the issue. Questions are still there.
