Indian Railways has said for the first time in the history of the Railways, all trains achieved 100% punctuality on July 1. No trains were delayed among the 201 that run on this day, said the Indian Railways.

In the ongoing lockdown, Indian Railways is running on a restricted capacity with all regular passenger trains cancelled. Indian Railways is now running special trains to ferry passengers stranded or those travelling out of necessity. These are specific routes across the country devised to help movement in the current situation.

Indian Railways has said the previous best was 99.54% on June 23 when only one train was delayed. But on July 1, Indian Railways achieved 100% punctuality with the 201 trains.

In a statement, the Indian Railways said, “First time ever in the history of Indian Railways, 100% punctuality of trains achieved with all trains on time. Previous best was 99.54% on 23.06.2020 with one train getting delayed.”

Meanwhile, the Railways on Wednesday formally kickstarted its plans to allow private entities to operate passenger trains on its network by inviting request for qualifications (RFQ) for participation on 109 pairs of routes through 151 modern trains, the national transporter said.

The project would entail a private sector investment of about Rs 30,000 crore.

Last week, the Railways cancelled all regular mail, express and passenger services as well as suburban trains till August 12 in view of the coronavirus pandemic.

ll special trains -- 15 pairs running on the Rajdhani routes since May 12 and 100 pairs of mail/express trains operating since June 1 -- are the ones still running along with goods trains.

Evil Modi is crossing one milestone after another.
Good for you. You are right the single largest milestone your Modi has achieved is the polarization of Indian society. For that too congratulations 👏

New Delhi:
India has become the first country in the world to reach the 5 million COVID-19 vaccination mark in just 20 days, the Union Health Ministry said as nearly 53 lakh beneficiaries have been administered shots under the countrywide inoculation exercise till Friday evening.

The USA, the UK and Israel have reached 5 million vaccinations in 24, 43 and 45 simultaneous days respectively.

"The countrywide COVID-19 vaccination program was conducted successfully on the twenty-first day as well," the ministry said.

The cumulative number of healthcare workers vaccinated against COVID-19 is nearly 53 lakhs.

A total of 52,90,474 beneficiaries were vaccinated through 1,04,781 sessions, as per the provisional report comprising data collected till Friday 6 pm.

As many as "3,31,029 beneficiaries have been vaccinated till 6 pm on the 21st day of the vaccination drive," the ministry said, adding, the final report would be completed by late in the night.

The final report would be completed for the day by late Friday night, the ministry said.

One of the highlights of the vaccination process is a link for downloading the certificate which is also a part of the confirmatory SMS sent to the beneficiary post vaccination.

The Certificate can also be downloaded by the Vaccinator and District Immunization Officer and handed over to the beneficiary, the ministry said.

Total 27 persons have been hospitalized so far which translates to 0.0005 per cent of the total vaccinations done so far. No new hospitalization has been recorded in the last 24 hours, the ministry said.

The ministry further said total 22 deaths have been recorded till date and none of these deaths have been causally linked with COVID-19 vaccination.

"One new death was reported in the past 24 hours, of a 77-year-old male in Agra, seven days after vaccination. It was a case of shock with pre-existing diabetes. None of these deaths have been causally linked with COVID-19 vaccination," the ministry said.

CommentsTotal 3,31,029 beneficiaries who have been vaccinated on Friday 6 pm include 29,229 from Bihar, 12,992 from Kerala, 23,291 from Karnataka, 1,104 from Madhya Pradesh, 35,172 from Maharashtra, 6,258 from Tamil Nadu, 8,038 from Delhi, 27,862 from Gujarat, 53,959 from Uttar Pradesh and 17,329 from West Bengal, according to the provisional report.

That's quite heartening to read about. It is indeed a milestone for the railways.

Although I feel this was possible due to the reduction in the no. Of trains run daily rather than a major organisational overhaul. This record would be more impressive if we can achieve it at peak loads, the Japanese should be an inspiration in that regard.

The Primary reason for Train delay is FOG and Freight trains that run on passenger rails.

Modi govt. took concrete steps to address this issue and achieve this milestone. Its foolish to credit this to CoVid.

1. Development and launch of Dedicated Freight corridor.

4 Reasons Why Your Train Won’t Delay This Winter Season: Indian Railways Unleashes 4 Technical Innovations!

Winter is coming! If you are worried about your train being delayed in this winter season, blow your fears away! Indian Railways is now planning to implement a lot of innovative techniques to avoid delaying of railways due to foggy weather in the winter.

Let’s find out what techniques will be implemented by Indian Railways for making sure the railways reach passengers on time!

Modified Automatic System For Signalling

A modified automatic system for signalling has been employed in the Northern Railways (NR) and North Central Railways (NCR) zones. This system will boost the level of safety when trains are running in the automatic block signalling sections. Its also puts a limit on the number of trains travelling between two railway stations in the winter where there is a lot of fog.

Painting Signal Boards With Bright And Easily Available Colours

The signal boards on the railway network, passenger and goods warning boards, signals at railway stations, interlocked level crossing gates, and the semaphore signal arms have been painted with vibrant and bright colours or luminous strips. The bright colours will increase the visibility of the boards, and will, therefore, help catch the eye of the pilots of the locomotives.

Inspection During Foggy Weather

Official inspection and night inspection will be conducted at the officer and supervisor level, are being conducted, especially during the foggy weather. This will make the maintenance staff alert and spread awareness amongst them as well.

Indian Railways’ Loco Pilots Will Be Given Fog PASS Devices

Fog PASS devices have been handed out to loco pilots to help them with the movement of the train in the winter fog. These are devices that are enabled with GPS and are handheld portable devices and are given to the loco pilots who work in the areas that have huge amounts of fog.

These devices help the pilots by using audio visual alarm which goes off if there is a landmark within the geo-fence range of the locomotive.

These devices have been fed with vital information, such as the location of the stations, signals, warning boards, level crossing gates as well as the whistle for level crossing (W/L) boards in the section. The device is used to know the speed of the locomotive, distance and time required to reach the landmarks. About 12,205 Fog PASS devices have been handed out to the Indian Railways network.

"Polarization" also known as "Hindu consolidation". How is this a bad thing ? lol.

Did you read the next line?
The next line told me that India railway running on a restricted capacity with all regular passenger trains cancelled.

Which means if all regular passenger trains are running, there will be huge delay again as usual. To be honest, I will feel ashamed 201 trains are on time which are only 1.5% of total train running on the grid.

IR runs 13,523 passenger trains daily, on both long-distance and suburban routes, covering 7,321 stations across India.

Not an inch of railway added since British left in 1947. Marvelous.

 ..................... .........................

In 1950 the total length of Indian rail network was 53,596 KM.

In 2012 it was 64,600 KM.

Then Modi came

In 2020 it is 1,23,236 kM.

.
Were passenger trains operating in July of last year ?
