Indian perspective: Iran backstabs India

I think you are being very unfair to @BlueInGreen2, Dalit.

He basically said what I said but you are not reacting to me like him. xD

I think the Saudis and Arabs from the Persian Gulf region have some economic leverage over Pakistan because they have employed millions of your residents. Also, Saudi Arabia funded your nuclear program. I think Pakistanis in general favor Saudis to Iran for historical and religious reasons.

If you ask my opinion, I think idealistically Iran, Pakistan, China and Turkey should be strong allies to reshape the region. However, that's simplistic and far from the realities on the ground.

Our relationship with Gulf nations is nowhere near where it used to be after they chose to cosy with Modi's India. These are the same GCC nations that accused Pakistan of treachery after it didn't join the war in Yemen. Instead these Arab countries rewarded Modi with medals knowing very well how this would go with Pakistan. We won't forget. We won't have a confrontation with GCC nations, but our relations will be lukewarm at best.

KSA under the leadership of MBS is lukewarm at best. We won't disagree openly with Saudis, but we won't be as close as we used to be. It will be a neutral relationship. Again, KSA too has a close relationship with India which goes against our principles. They might have their reasons, but we won't be convinced.

I firmly believe that Pakistan will work very closely with the region. Pakistan made a firm commitment after it signed the CPEC deal. We have learnt our lesson after the WoT debacle. Never ever will Pakistan join any Western or American wars again. Neither will it become a pawn or proxy of any nation. We will only work for regional interconnectivity.

If a nation is vulnerable to outside (in this case US) pressure and/or they cannot deliver the terms of agreements, then naturally do not expect Iran to give you chances ad infinitum. Indians should focus on the realities of realpolitik rather than looking at the world through unrealistic prisms such as "backstabbing". They say when you point a finger at someone in blame, you have 3 more pointing right back at yourself. Iran is an independent nation, thus if you wish to deal with Iran, you must act in the same manner. If your policies reverse constantly due to outside pressure and/or if your tongue is greater than your wallet and might, then expect such responses from any pragmatic nation, especially Iran.

I am talking about things that have been done, not things that will be done.

I have been following politics since I was 13 or 14. I thought many things would happen that none of them happened and some things happened in the exactly opposite way. xD Once there is an Iran-Pakistan-China pipeline, you can rest assured that Iran and Pakistan will expand their ties in all areas.

I was only pointing your mistake of equating Pakistan with India.

India is a slave country. They will never go against big powers like US, Russia & China.

On the other hand Pakistan is a battle hardened country which brought down both USSR & USA in Afghanistan.

Pakistanis are born fighters.

That American guy can piss off for all I care. He is a nobody. He just came here to spoil the discussion. He is not worth my time anymore.

He's an American guy born to Iranian parents as far as I know. But I don't think his nationality or ethnicity should make a difference. He didn't say anything bad that I haven't said a lot worse than that before. xD

Yes. I understand that the current dynamics of the region is pushing Iran, China and Pakistan together. Hopefully, it will remain so in future as well. Fortunately, after Imran Khan visited Tehran, we could talk about our differences constructively and some evident improvements in our relations were achieved. However, the Middle East is too unpredictable. It's hard to understand what can happen in this region in the next 10 years.

If Pakistan imports energy from Iran, then both of us will need each other more than before. Real friendships are established based on mutual interests. We can't become true friends as long as Pakistan does not want to commit to friendship with us. And the strongest signal of commitment to friendship with Iran that you can send is to construct the other side of the pipeline. We have finished our side of the pipeline nearly a decade ago. Now it's your turn.

Pakistan will import energy from Iran. It is only a matter of time. The Americans can cry all day long. The current leadership is not like the previous corrupt ruling elite.

The IPC pipeline will be built. Bo doubt about it. Iran has gas and oil. Both Pakistan and China are energy hungry. It only makes sense to import this from neighboring Iran.

I never equate countries with each other as each country has its own unique situation.

It is a fact that the USA has a much better economy than Iran and they have made it clear to nearly everyone that anyone who does business with Iran will be sanctioned from doing business with their companies. Most countries, nearly all countries that are not powerful enough to stand against those sanctions or deem it unnecessary to stand against the mighty US for Iran, have decided to side with the Americans on this issue. It's a fact.

I hope the best for the future of our countries. Pakistan is closer to Iran than any other country in the region. I know nothing about Urdu and yet I can fully understand your national anthem. So, you should know that if you finally make up your mind and decide to commit to friendship with Iran, you will be welcomed with open arms.

Absolutely agreed. Both Iran and Pakistan must put past behind and work toward a bright future. What has happened has happened. Only the future matters. We have had disagreements due to many regional complexities etc. Iran took the right step and Pakistan should reciprocate. China, Pakistan and Iran must work together. For their people and the region.

Next to dump India will be the Russia.

When that happens, Indian military becomes obsolete over night. :chilli:

Indians have a weird soft spot for iranians. This is based on aryan myth . Since Iranians are claimed to be some sort of ancient aryans and indians fancy themsevles as aryans they think they are weird "natural" partners.

Yeah there used to be a massive active thread on Bharat Rakshak titled "Iran's faultlines - Islamic/Aryan". Just pages and pages of these freaks fantasizing about Iran renouncing Islam and forming an alliance with them.

Honestly, I'm not really optimistic about it as I think Pakistan will continue to favor the US over Iran as rationally speaking it will serve her economic interests better. Also, Pakistan doesn't want to get too close to Iran because of Saudi Arabia as well. I think Saudi Arabia alone can keep Pakistan away from Iran.

Saudis wanted us in Yemen. What happened? They wanted a Muslim Army, led by our General, excluding your country. Check the General's response. KSA though can be a very useful partner with all the $$ they have, it's just that we only cooperate when it aligns with our interests.

Iran on the other hand will not completely ditch India as we may one day need them again. Iranian politicians think about long-term strategies. If the Chinese do not deliver their promises in future, Indians can become useful again for switching sides.

You cannot switch China with India. They are not the same thing. The West creates this China v. India narrative to make Indians feel they can take on China. If China does not deliver, you can go to India, but you don't get the same thing (quality, size, money, duration).

I have met some Indians who boasted of being "Aryan" ... one of the most cringeworthy talks I've ever been part of lol. No wonder why many South Indians often say they're looked down by those from the North.

But but pdf Indians assure me that the railway line was a worthless liability and india-Afghan chumma chumma will benefit financially and fiscally and macroeconomically and microeconomically and monetarily from the Chinese constructed railway line. In fact the jokes are on China and Iran apparently.

S'all about the optics y'all.

Again with this slo-mo speech news channel.

Stephen Hawking must have watched this when he was alive.

I do enjoy these comments.

India is divorced by Iran, Afghanistan, Nepal, Myanmar, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Pakistan never liked her the first place and never slept with her. China tried but India used to conspire against him - and got bitc*h slapped. Countries who tried to keep her as a wife say "India stinks" and this lady has "mental problems".

For once, why can't India be described as the man in these relationships? Just why not? We have the third largest military in the world, and we send rockets to Moon and Mars.
