What's new

Indian perspective: Iran backstabs India

No matter how you look at it or try to explain it. The Indians were either a liability or simply put using Iran for their own interest.
That's called business. Everyone uses the other one for its own interests. That's nothing new.
We also used Indians for our own interests and when we saw it fit, ditched them.

.
Obviously we are on PDF and Pakistanis love to pick on India, but the truth is that we didn't ditch India because of China. We ditched them because they couldn't deliver what they had promised to do and they weren't importing enough goods from us. So, they had become quite useless for us and it was a good time to ditch them.

In the past, we have done the same with the Chinese too. In fact more than once. The Chinese were put aside from the South Pars project during Ahmadinejad's presidency after they had become too slow in fear of possible US sanctions. They were also ditched from the new Tehran-North expressway project after they didn't deliver their promises in a reasonable amount of time.

I read in Indian newspapers that Chabahar can reduce logistic costs by 20% for India. This means that putting them aside will make logistic costs for them 25% more expensive. Honestly I think they more than earned it and it should've been done earlier.
The US could learn a thing or two from Iran on dealing with entities that can’t and/or won’t deliver.

How long has this courtship of India by the US (to contain China) been going on?

India gets an NSG waiver, MTCR, Wassenarr membership, liberal visa regime, negotiations on free trade etc etc ...

And in exchange it has delivered to the US what exactly in the almost two decades now?

The Americans don't have many choices. Apart from India there is no other country envious towards China within the region. India is the only rat in the region that would hate China at the behest of the US. When you look at regional countries, they seek a friendly and cooperative relation with China.

The US is possibly smarter than anyone when it comes to trade and foreign affairs. I'm sure they have their own reasons but I don't know anything about the US-India relations to comment on that.

As far as Iran is concerned, Iran has been facing similar issues with China and Europeans as well and they all faced the same fate as India when Iran realized that they wouldn't deliver their commitments. India wasn't quite useless like now for Iran back in 2009. They purchased our oil and imported a lot of goods from Iran when we were under 4 rounds of UNSC sanctions. However, this time it seems that they weren't willing to take such risks. So, it was wise to kick them out and we will probably see a further divergence of interests soon. If anything, I think it should've been done earlier but Rouhani's inadequacy as a president caused the delay in ditching them.

US/Trump have realized that India/Modi failed to deliver on the China front.

As soon as China killed 20 Indian soldiers India went begging to China.

Modi is meeting Xi in October to plead China for mercy in person.

This is the reason why US has decided to stop the H1 program.

No more carrots to India.

.
LOL stop the BS enemy. India backstabbed Iran at the behest of your country the US. India is your cheerleader. Hence India also stopped buying Iranian oil.

Iran is smart. India is nothing without US and Western support. China is selfmade. It is easy to pick a side. China all the way.

What you and your lackey India are witnessing here today is a new regional economic bloc being formed. No doubt that China is the glue of this region that will unite all nations except lapdogs like India. India is getting more and more isolated in the region. It is a another Israel in the making that has to constantly fear for its well-being. Not because it is a victim or righteous, but because it is a pooch of the USA.

"Enemy" ?

Lol, if you only knew just a little-bit more about me then you wouldn't go around calling me that especially since I don't pose any sort of threat to you or anyone here.

Anyways, my original point still stands. India's regrettable inaction has caused this and Iran is in the right as far as I'm concerned.

That is why you are an enemy. You take Indian side despite fully knowing that it is Indian treachery on behalf of its master US that caused the fallout. It benefits us perfectly. We are obviously happy with the outcome. No complainst here whatsoever.

For Pakistan it is important that the region starts forming an economic bloc. This is a good step in the right direction. Iran too will now become part of the OBOR fraternity in a big way. That is beneficial for Pakistan. The US and India were always willing to use Chabahar against Gwadar. That is out now out of the question.

India is going to be isolated more and more within its own region. It already has conflicts with bigger and smaller nations surrounding it.

To be quite honest with you, like brutally honest, Pakistan hasn't been any better than India either, if not worse. You probably have forgotten that you have failed to honor your end of the deal regarding the Iran-Pakistan pipeline.

An economic bloc is not formed by lip service. It is formed by actual actions regarding mutual economic interests.

What a stupid comment....I didn't take India's side, I clearly stated why I understood Iran's decision to drop India from national projects due to India's own inaction. If that translates to "enemy" in your tiny little mind then so be it. I won't waste my time trying to prove why I'm not an enemy of Pakistan lol.

I don't do this often but I will invoke some other members here to speak on my behalf (if they so please) so they can tell you whether or not I'm an "enemy".

Under previous regimes the pipeline unfortunately took a backseat. You can again guess that this satan country known as the US forces Pakistan to not participate.

Although Iranian relations with India were also a reason why Pakistan was hesitant. Iran India relations have always undermined Pakistan. You cannot deny this.

I am very optimistic now. Since Iran chose to ditch India a new chapter can start.

LOL you are obviously hurt about India losing Iran as an ally. Read your own post. It is not very hard to figure out how disappointed you are with the fallout.

I just gave you a reply as I should being a Pakistani.

Honestly, I'm not really optimistic about it as I think Pakistan will continue to favor the US over Iran as rationally speaking it will serve her economic interests better. Also, Pakistan doesn't want to get too close to Iran because of Saudi Arabia as well. I think Saudi Arabia alone can keep Pakistan away from Iran.

Iran on the other hand will not completely ditch India as we may one day need them again. Iranian politicians think about long-term strategies. If the Chinese do not deliver their promises in future, Indians can become useful again for switching sides.

KSA and the US are not Pakistan's allies. Pakistan will keep them at an arms length. Only interact whenever necessary. The regional countries are priority. Pakistan chose to start a mega project with China to interconnect the rest of the regional countries.

Don't be so disingenuous now. You now that Pakistan is not on good terms with a drone killer nation like the US.

Now don't act like an Indian.

China is going to build the Iran-Pakistan-China pipeline.

Chabahar will be linked to Gwadar.

Chinese military base in Pakistan's Jiwani region will protect both Chabahar & Gwadar from the US.

You beg American. I have seen many like you disappear. You are a crocodile.
I think you are being very unfair to @BlueInGreen2, Dalit.

He basically said what I said but you are not reacting to me like him. xD

I think the Saudis and Arabs from the Persian Gulf region have some economic leverage over Pakistan because they have employed millions of your residents. Also, Saudi Arabia funded your nuclear program. I think Pakistanis in general favor Saudis to Iran for historical and religious reasons.

If you ask my opinion, I think idealistically Iran, Pakistan, China and Turkey should be strong allies to reshape the region. However, that's simplistic and far from the realities on the ground.

I am talking about things that have been done, not things that will be done.

I have been following politics since I was 13 or 14. I thought many things would happen that none of them happened and some things happened in the exactly opposite way. xD Once there is an Iran-Pakistan-China pipeline, you can rest assured that Iran and Pakistan will expand their ties in all areas.
