Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Collected

Bangladesh deputy high commissioner in Kolkata said his mission does not have any information in this regard

An Indian media, Anandabazar, has reported the arrest of Risaldar Moslemuddin, another convicted killer of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, however, Bangladesh government is yet to confirm the matter.

Risaldar Moslemuddin was arrested from North 24 Parganas in West Bengal after receiving leads from the interrogation of Abdul Majed, another killer of Bangabandhu, the report added.

Bangladesh Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said: "As you are hearing we are also hearing. But there is no confirmation.”

"Our NSI (National Security Intelligence) does not know anything. Our SB (Special Branch) does not know anything," he told Dhaka Tribune on Monday.

"We are verifying," he added.

Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata Toufique Hasan also said that his mission does not have any information in this regard.

"We also came to know through the media reports," he told this correspondent over telephone.

"We are trying to gather information from different sources," he added.

Abdul Majed, one of the convicts in the killing of Bangladesh’s founding father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was arrested in Dhaka on April 7 and executed at the Dhaka Central Jail at 12:01am on April 12.

Majed was one of the six absconding convicts along with Abdur Rashid, Shariful Haque Dalim, M Rashed Chowdhury, SHMB Noor Chowdhury and Risaldar Moslemuddin, until he was arrested.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was killed along with most of his family members at his Dhanmondi 32 residence on August 15, 1975.
