NEW DELHI:Dawood's latest, frantic bid to kill Chhota Rajan foiled

He, however, got agitated when asked about information given by intelligence sources that Dawood was to be bumped off on September 16 last year when he was on his way to attend Shakeel's daughter Zoya's wedding in Karachi. Reliable accounts suggest that those interested in killing Dawood had come close to breaching the security cordon that the fugitive don has erected around himself.

This reporter had barely broached the issue that Shakeel snapped, "Who tells you all this? I have no idea. Ask what I will answer, not what I won't. These are fancies which will never turn true. (Sawal woh karo jiska jawab mai doon aapko, woh na karo jiska jawab nahin doon. Aaj tak jitni bhi aisi information aayi hai... agencies bhi jaanti hai, khayaali pulao hai, sapne dekhte hain, inka sapna kabhi poora nahi hoga)."

Shakeel accused Indian agencies of discriminating between gangs, and asked why they, or the government, had never talked about bringing back Chhota Rajan. "When agencies can hear me plotting against him (Rajan) and know where he is, why don't they get him picked up? Has he not killed people? Is he not a criminal?" he asked.

He mocked Indian authorities for periodic declarations of their desire to bring Dawood and his aides back and make them face the law. "Every time a new government comes, they make the first statement about us. Usko leke aayenge... ghus ke laayenge... Kya halwa hai? Bakri ka bachcha samajh ke rakha hai kya? Lana hai toh usko (Rajan) lao na," he said.

Shakeel confirmed that he, with help from precise information from a defector in the Rajan gang, had reached Newcastle in Australia to eliminate his rival. "He ran away like a mouse," Shakeel said. He claimed that not one but three key members of Rajan's group had crossed over to his side because of their confidence that they would be taken care of. "I look after even the family of Rajan's aides who had been killed by members of D-Company," Shakeel said.

He added, "Haven't killed anyone in Mumbai in the past 5-6 years. I don't want to kill innocents. He (Rajan) brings shooters from UP and gets people killed in our name. I want to continue my business. I invest money and take it back."

Shakeel got agitated when asked about Rajan's 'Hindu don' image. "This is media's job. Take him in the army, send him on the border if he is a patriot. (Patriot hai to army me le lo na... border pe bhejo na! Mulq ke liye kaam karega. Hindu don ka concept aap logo ka... media ka hai. He has killed all Hindus for money," he said.

Met Dawood Ibrahim in London, he wanted to return to India: Ram Jethmalani | Zee News
Last Updated: Saturday, July 4, 2015 - 12:09
New Delhi: Senior advocate Ram Jethmalani on Saturday claimed to have met Dawood Ibrahim in London, where the underworld don had told him that he was willing to return to India.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Jethmalani rejected a newspaper report, which claimed that he had met Dawood's close associate Chhota Shakeel in London.

The senior Supreme Court lawyer maintained that Dawood had offered to surrender to Indian authorities, but the then Maharashtra chief minister Sharad Pawar had rejected the offer.

However, Jethmalani said that saying no to Dawood's proposal wasn't only Pawar's decision, but the UPA government was also a part of it.

While recalling his encounter with the underworld don, Jethamalani said that Dawood was ready to return to India and be placed under house arrest during the trial, as he feared he would be bumped off in jail.

Jethamalani further said that Dawood told him that he was not involved in 1993 Mumbai serial blasts and wanted a guarantee from Indian authorities for his return that he will not be subjected to third-degree torture by the police during his detention.

The senior lawyer's claim comes after Dawood's trusted aide Chhota Shakeel in an interview to The Times of India, said that the underworld don had wished to return to India after the Mumbai blasts and had even spoken to Jethmalani in London, but the Indian government refused.

The newspaper reported that Shakeel had met Jethmalani in London and put forward Dawood's proposal for the Indian authorities.

The Narendra Modi-led government has repeatedly said that Dawood is in Pakistan and that India is determined to bring him back.

Pakistan has denied time and again the fugitive's presence on its soil.

Dawood Ibrahim's proposition to Jethmalani want viable: Sharad Pawar | Zee News
Last Updated: Saturday, July 4, 2015 - 15:23
Mumbai: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo and former Maharashtra chief minister Sharad Pawar on Saturday said that senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani's proposition regarding the surrender of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim was not viable as a criminal like him could not be left without being arrested.

"Ram Jethmalani had given a proposition that's true, but it was conditional. He had put such a condition wherein Dawood would not have been arrested if he had come to India. You cannot not arrest a person who has so many cases against him. Everybody needs to follow the law but Jethmalani ji did not accept the suggestion," said Pawar.

Jethmalani earlier claimed Dawood had offered to surrender to the Indian authorities in the 90s, but Pawar did not carry the matter forward.

"Dawood said that he was ready to come back, but needed assurance from the government that they will not use third degree... and will keep him under house arrest. He said that he was ready to face the punishment if he was wrong," Jethmalani said.

"When he said this, I sent this in writing to Sharad Pawar... I told my son to inform about this offer to the local authorities," he added.

The 1993 bombings were a series of bomb explosions that took place in Mumbai. The single-day attacks resulted in over 350 fatalities and 1200 injuries.

Bharti lies on Dawood's presence in Pakistan debunked by Jethmalani.

All this time india has been crying asking Pakistan to hand over Dawood..
Their stratigy well known..." bagal mein churi , mu mein ram ram "
We have to wait few more years till india will spit truth about bombay attack how indian intellegence RA&W planned.
Pakistans strategy to stay quite was better than answering their lies..

stop posting about indian criminals, it's their (india's) internal matter, what do we have to do with this?
It suggests that at least at that point in time DI might have been in London, and not Pakistan as the Indians have been claiming. And if DI is no longer in London, how did he get out given the hue and cry India was raising internationally?

This points to UK complicity in sheltering DI, not Pakistani complicity.

@Horus @Irfan Baloch @Oscar

I second the proposal.

Are these same lies, like the ones you were telling on OBL's presence in Pakistan.
There were no lies regarding OBL's hideout - the Pakistani government and Pakistani military/ISI did not know where he was and till date no evidence has emerged to the contrary. In fact, a reading of the documents captured from OBL's hideout suggest the opposite, that OBL was deeply suspicious of the ISI and afraid of him and his associates being compromised by the ISI.

What Bin Laden Taught us about Jihad in Pakistan

On the other hand what we have here is Jethmalani and Sharad Pawar both confirming the interaction and offer from DI in London, so yes, India has been caught lying with its pants down.

Yes Dawood Ibrahim was in London..after that he was also in Dubai, before being chucked out of there.
Then he made Pakistan his permanent base and now he is in Pakistan.

This incident happened in 94-95, after Mumbai blast( of 93), but before Sharad Pawar govt went out of in power in Mumbai.

You people's arrogance is unbelievable, you think if India had been lying about Dawood whereabouts(which would pretty elaborate lie, requiring huge amount of preparation) it would let it slip so easily and get caught "with our pants down" by some petty internet warrior nonetheless !!

As far OBL is concerned ..if your government did not know, where he was..then why were they so vociferously claiming, that OBL is not in Pakistan?

Either they are stupid or they were his accomplices.
