Indian Express Lies Again-DIG Loshali never said Pakistani terror boat was blown up by us: ICG

oh So an Indian DIG Chief of staff for commander Coast Guards, high ranking official use words like Biryani in a highly official statement? what a slangy language Indian high ranking positions use.

Above all I also have Objection over 'Genderization' of the "Terror Boat" by BK Loshali so Indian Express should ask him to apologize to all females, address the mistake and correct the sentence. Or BK Loshali should avoid translating Hindi into English word by word otherwise i will overkill his language skills by my newly invented words like Genderization.

Sailing vessels have forever been referred to in the female gender. No offense meant . Out at sea left at the mercy of elements & just the wind to sail a ship it must have something to do with the sane of safety a mariner felt with his mother .

Further , it was also to do with the love a sailor has with his ship & how he respects & looks after it.

In lighter vein :"Old sailors used to answer this with a sexist joke: "Like a woman, a ship is unpredictable."

A more likely suggestion relates to the idea of goddesses and mother figures playing a protective role in looking after a ship and crew. Linked to this is the common practice of giving ships female figureheads and names, often after deities or members of a shipowner's family. Christopher Columbus famously crossed the Atlantic in a ship called La Santa Maria, named after the Virgin Mary."

His quote of biryani was in reference to kasab demanding that he has to be served chicken biryani in his regular meal, whats wrong in using it ?? and the speech was delivered in a small function to celebrate the induction of a new boat in to the service, it is not a press release. unless u consider a speech in a small function to be an official statement of the officer..

@Spring Onion

Some more reasons :

I found a couple of reasons - albeit a bit tongue in cheek!

1. A ship is called ‘She’ because there is always a great deal of bustle around her; there is usually a gang of men about, she has a waist and stays; it takes a lot of paint to keep her good looking; it is not the initial expense that breaks you, it’s the upkeep; she can be all decked out; it takes an experienced man to handle her correctly, and, without a man at the helm, she is absolutely uncontrollable. She shows her topsides, hides her bottom and, when coming into port, always heads for the buoys.

2. We always call a ship a "she" and not without a reason. For she displays a well-shaped knee regardless of the season.
She scorns the man whose heart is faint and doesn't show him pity. And like a girl she needs the paint to keep her looking pretty.

For love she'll brace the ocean vast, be she a gig or cruiser.
But if you fail to tie her fast you're almost sure to lose her.
On ships and dames we pin our hopes, we fondle them and dandle them.
And every man must know his ropes or else he cannot handle them.

Be firm with her and she'll behave when skies are dark above you.
And let her take a water wave - praise her, and she'll love you.
That's why a ship must have a mate; she needs a good provider.
A good strong arm to keep her straight, to comfort her and guide her.

For such she'll brace the roughest gales and angry seas that crowd her.
And in a brand new suit of sails no dame looks any prouder.
The ship is like a dame in that she's feminine and swanky;
You'll find the one that's broad and fat is never mean and cranky.

Yes ships are ladylike indeed, for take them altogether
the ones that show a lot of speed can't stand the roughest weather.

and

As far as this incident is concerned I think there was a video released by coast guard which very clearly shows who set the boat on fire.

itachiii whatever the reference was it sounds like a street language. If it was informal speech how does it end up as an official letter with letter reference number ??

The reference is not without sufficient reason.

I have come across many ladies whom I could best describe a " terror'.

Most of us poor fellows are married to one !
:frown: our terror still has some CLASS.

read the line again "however I had made a statement that anti-national elements do not need to be served biryani" ... he is merely quoting the same lines that he made in ceremony :hitwall::hitwall::hitwall::hitwall:
