I was watching this video on kashmir on amazon prime. I was shocked to see this pakistani major being caught by locals of kashmir.This is a very rare video footage which is found only on amazon prime and times now.
This reminded me of abhinandan's episode.

Facepalm. Do you even know who general akhtar Hussain malik was? He was involved in operation gibraltar which was an infiltration operation however he was involved in planning and not infiltrating himself and then he led operation grand slam advancing across the akhnur line till the famous delay of 24 hours where he was removed from command and replaced by Yahya khan. During this period, he wrote to his brother another famous letter. Pray tell me where was he a POW during this period. Akhtar Hussain malik and his life is highly documented so him being a POW would have come up somewhere.

As for the documentary. I watched from the period you mentioned and it failed to impress me. The documentary spoke not of grandslam and talked of indian retaliation across Lahore as if it was in retaliation of gibraltar whereas the indian retaliation to gibraltar was in LOC across haji pir pass in whose retaliation grandslam was launched. Hope you didn't pay for it because it was not worth it but to be fair nowhere did the documentary mention akhtar Hussain malik as POW so I don't know where you got that insinuation.
