Indian Army's team of 8 GARHWAL wins Gold Medal in the prestigious Cambrian Patrol held at United Ki

@Pulsar That happened in 2007 when Musharaf was in power. At that time their was no consensus about war on terrorism within Pakistani nation including our armed forces who were reluctant to attack these TTP miscreants. They considered these tribes man as their brothers. But what these talibans did after that was an eye opener for a lot of people. That's when game changed which resulted in various operations against them.

Story which you are quoting is completely different from Mumbai attacks. In Mumbai attacks, only few terrorists paralysed your whole city and your so called special forces took days to completely neutralize them. Yes we consider those attackers as terrorist and we Pakistani generally believe that RAW and CIA were behind on this false flag operation.

We also saw you, in Mumbai attacks. cowards killing people in train station, hospitals, hotels!!

SHAME!!

We lost more than 50,000 people including women and children because of your terrorist activities in Afghanistan and within Pakistan. Get ready to face a big blow in return when NATO will leave Afghanistan.

Intresting Read about Garwhal Rifles:

The Garhwal Rifles holds the prestige of refusing to obey the order to fire at non-violent crowd in Qissa Khwani Bazaar massacre.

The exact number of deaths remains controversial—several hundred were killed, with many more wounded. One British Indian Army regiment, troops of the renowned Royal Garhwal Rifles, refused to fire at the crowds. A British civil servant wrote later that "hardly any regiment of the Indian Army won greater glory in the Great War (World War I) than the Garhwal Rifles, and the defection of part of the regiment sent shock waves through India, of apprehension to some, of exultation to others." The entire platoon was arrested and many received heavy penalties, including life imprisonment.

WOW. I did not know this.

True Courage and Character. ...... do you know which were the other regiments involved in this ?

Also respect for Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan and his Khudai Khidmatgar  . What a tragedy the pashtoons degenerated from such noble ideals into the Taliban. Makes you realize the greatness of Gandhi and "frontier gandhi".

Good job Garhwal rifles.

This is the second time the IA is winning the gold. IIRC, IX Gorkha Rifles won it in 2011. A Pakistani SSG team won in 2010.
Wasn't SSG. A regular infantry unit participated.

They send SSG for infantry competition?
no , it was not an ssg team , in fact it was an infantry team , as this can be easily proven from the prize distribution ceremony video available on YouTube.

i do appreciate all those teams who made it there and especially those teams who won gold medal this year.Hard and dedicated training always pays real dividends.
