Indian Air Force offers facilities to Bangladesh

IAF already provides facilities for Singaporese AF. If we can for Singaporese whats so special in BAF that we cant offer them the same?

Who talked about India's ability?Off course India can provide facilities.
Why do you always misinterpret things?

But,Singapoores neighbour isn't India. There is no chance of even a skirmish between India and Singapoore.
But there is a chance, although very very small,of a war between India and Bangladesh. If not war,at least there is possibility of medium scale skirmish like 2001.
So there are other factors to include other than only capability.

You cannot compare two entirely different cases.India giving Singapoore an air base is equivalent of China giving BAF the same facility.

With so many unresolved issues still, one can not expect US-Canada relation overnight. If it is to reach that stage, the relation needs more time and more importantly be uninterrupted.

Many Bangladeshi officers have attended NDA and IMA for many years.

IAF and BAF participate in each other's course. One of the proof already posted in the same thread.

Many Bangladeshi units have come to India for training.

Despite of 2001 type of skirmishes India is always the first country to send aid in any and every disaster of Bangladesh.

Now I fail to understand how does Indian upgrades of Mi-8 and MiG-29 can compromise the Bangladeshi defence?

Myanmar is already getting MiG-29K/SMT in front of which BAF MiG-29's does not stand a chance.

China does not have MiG-29's and hence no expertise. Russians are expensive.

Hence India can be a good choice.

GB

P.S: - Despite of having problems with India and Hindraf the Malaysian Air Force do come to India for their MiG-29 and Su-30 maintainance and expertise.

Dont worry about it. We have other arrangement to take care of our defence hardware.:D

With such close relation between IAF and BAF (in future also) i guess it will not be possible to sell either J-10 or JF-17 (In case BAF is interested in either one) to BAF, as the IAF personals might get access to these planes which neither China or Pak would ever want.

What do you guys think? Please no India/Pakistan bashing in response to this.

^ I think u r not wrong. BD is now friend of India. So Pakistan should try elsewhere for selling jets. Sad!

BD was/is and will always remain a friend of India.

It is the elements like BNP who deliberately rattle the sabre of India for their own sakes by supporting and harboring anti Indian elements in BD.

A common Indian has not hate for a Bangladeshi national. Our trade is more with Bangladesh than Pakistan,Nepal or Sri Lanka.

India has banned Pakistani television, movies, cricketers etc but never banned the same with Bangladeshis.

No need to be sad for either Pakistan or China, J-10 and JF-17 will find a lot more buyers than Bangladesh would find AC suppliers for its AF. So keep your sympathies with yourself.

BD has its own independent policy.

You have to get it into your heads that it is a zero sum game.
You dont have to worry about hostility from India, China OR Pakistan.

Admittedly the trio have their own Bi-lateral issues to deal with.

If BD wants to play the mid ground courting all sides it can.

If BD wants to form side with one over the other it can.

Frankly the most damaging things any of those 3 nations can do is give BD ultimatums for friendly relations.

If BD see's JF-17's as key to its defense needs it can get them.
the same goes for the J-10.
