Hamid Gul: Pakistani general nails Musharraf's Kargil conflict lies | Daily Mail Online

While Lt-Gen (retd) Hamid Gul, former chief of Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI, said Musharraf should have faced a court martial for his "hare-brained adventure", the Indian generals said there was nothing new about the so-called disclosure.

In a newspaper article, Lt-Gen (retd) Shahid Aziz, who was heading ISI's analysis wing during the conflict, wrote: "The Kargil war with India was an unsound military plan based on invalid assumptions, launched with little preparations and in total disregard of the regional and international environment."

The officer also denied the role of mujahideen in the 1999 war and accused Musharraf of cover-up.

"There were no mujahideen. Our soldiers were made to occupy barren ridges, with hand held weapons and ammunition," Aziz wrote in The Nation, a conservative English daily of Pakistan, on January 6.

Following the disclosure, Gul said: "I agree with Lt-Gen Aziz... A military operation without a clear political purpose is like a shot in the dark. Musharraf should have faced a court martial for his harebrained adventure."

You should be happy that he did not mobilize the entire corps but just few units merely 7K-8K personal against your 30K , otherwise you won't be celebrating here on PDF.

We are thankful that Pakistan did not choose to fight, otherwise India would have lost !!

India will never forget Kargil operation, says Musharraf
Pervez-Musharaf1-640x480.jpg

KARACHI (Staff Report) – Former President General (retired) Pervez Musharraf Sunday said the Kargil operation of 1999 was a successful military assault and India will never forget it.

Former military ruler who heads political party All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), while addressing his party’s youth wing, said that Pakistan army entered Kargil from five different routes and four of which were not even known to Indian forces. It was a great victory against India but unfortunately Pakistani politicians wasted the opportunity afterwards, he added.

Musharraf went on to say that our forces had taken over the key strategic positions in Kargil.

While commenting about the performance of current PMLN government, the former president said the bad governance has led the country to a closed end. General public is concerned whether it is democracy in Pakistan or a dictator is ruling the country, they are only concerned with the prosperity of Pakistan, he stressed.

Former COAS also announced that AMPL will participate in the upcoming elections in Gilgit Baltistan actively. Electoral tickets have been issued to the party candidates in this regard, he said.

India will never forget Kargil operation, says Musharraf - Daily Pakistan Global

He is the biggest moron in the world .

Guys this Kargil strategy was charted in 1987-88 but later was decided as failed strategy because of holding the ground for long time was not possible .And this moron comes up with it to become Abraham Lincoln of Pakistan and got whacked by Indians who pulled a surprise with never give up as a retaliation of another surprise coaching .End of the day soldiers of Pakistan let alone as mujahedeens .Its a treason . And Pakistan took a huge hit in eyes of global perception . 7/11 was icing on the cake to declare Pakistan as terror state among global community. It all vindicated when OSAMA was killed in Pakistan's military heart . All hails goes to This guy :D

. .
Idiots talking about Pakistan, first need to look at their own actions, how you morons are made a fool by your own pathetic media was well exposed by Nepal. Every body handed over to Pakistan was well documented for the attention seeking Indians, without having comprehension that Pakistan must have handed over bodies of Indian soldiers, but we never felt the need to turn it into a media circus, forget the dead, you people were embarrassed to take back your living.
ISLAMABAD, June 3: Pakistan on Thursday handed over Indian pilot K.
Nachiketa to the International Committee of Red Cross at 10.12 pm after
Indian High Commissioner G. Parathasarthy refused to receive him in
front of media.

The purpose of handing over the flight lieutenant to the Indian HC in
front of media was to avoid the repetition of baseless allegations,
Foreign Office spokesman Tariq Altaf told reporters.

The spokesman said the press corps had been invited to Foreign Office at
7pm for coverage of the handing over ceremony but it had to wait for
over three hours owing to the refusal by the Indian HC. "We were trying
to persuade him to come and receive the pilot in the presence of media
and ICRC representative and this caused the delay."

Musharaff is right. India will never forget the Kargil intrusion. Out intelligence folks were caught napping.

But the bigger question is, how will Pakistan remember it? Sending in soldiers, then lying to the world that the intruders were militants and not soldiers. Keep half of the army in dark. Providing no air cover to their soldiers, and those young men ending up as targets for the Indian Bofors. And once war done, the usual questions in Pakistan for which there are no answers. Who approached the US for an intervention? How many people in the Army knew about it?

Sad irony is not the fact whether the operation was justified or not. This idiot is actually trying to gloat over what he calls his bravado and military acumen, that the rest of the world thinks was stupid militarily.
