I am not being a wimp. It is difficult to be a Leftist Muslim in India nowadays especially. There is the risk of being declared "Anti-national" and "Seditious".

Also, there is no clear definition that all Hindus are with the BJP and RSS. In the last six years, four progressives have been assassinated by RSS-connected group / groups and all these four were Hindu.

About your point of Indian Muslims making up 10-20 % of the population, I agree that most Indian Muslims are not united. As long as they have a mosque to pray in, they don't bother to see what direction the country is going. This is different to earlier decades when the progressives in India had a significant count of Muslims. For example, after the Partition so many technicians, writers and artistes in the Bombay film industry were Muslim, and the films were socially relevant and not just love stories.

The Taliban is simply a nationalist force which wants foreign forces out of Afghanistan. The Taliban does not have any plan for the real progress of Afghanistan. You should not romanticise the Taliban. They are not someone like Che Guevara.

And yes, I agree that the Libyan Jamahiriya funding Sarkozy's election campaign was a grave mistake.
