India seeks open skies deal with Bangladesh

Only if our airlines are allowed to operate in Indian domestic market... ;)
Bring it on!!

The open sky policy is on a reciprocal basis, I don't think we will have much problem in welcoming some 20 more aircrafts in a fiercely competitive Indian aviation industry......but passengers may not be gutsy enough to board a Biman Bangladesh aircraft!

Let passenger decide which airlines to board.
Are you going to open domestic market for BD airlines? When that happens come back.

The Open skies agreement will cover from country to country (say Dhaka direct to any city in India or maybe approved list of them...and you can operate as many flights to those as you want). I believe you dont get A to B within India.

It wasn't given to Greece either which signed open skies with India recently. The only countries India may do so in future are ones with large domestic flight routes and market (and it will be done on reciprocal basis).

BD is not one of them and never will be given its physical size.

Then there is no open sky in BD. Thank you very much.

I am a passenger, and I would rather walk than to fly in a dilapidated Bangladeshi airlines even if they fly for free. :(

You cannot expect anything you want on the flight, they are not going to provide sanitary napkins for you!

I can understand and empathize with them, they must be running out of sanitary napkins rather fast after providing for the 4 wives and 40 children of different age groups of an average Bangladesi guy, and maybe 1 or 2 for the guy himself...........but that's not my concern, unlike Bangladeshis, Indian men have no use of sanitary napkins.

Only concern is, if Bangladeshi airline companies don't have enough money to paint their aircrafts and keep them decently; what kind of maintenance standard they follow to keep those aircrafts airworthy. All the Bangladeshi aircrafts I have seen so far looked like WWll era pieces.

there is no airline which provides sanitary napkins on the flight, but they do provide sanitary facilities.

I am not an expert on this subject, so I will let you have the final expert opinion. However, about the aircrafts, Bangladeshi ones I have seen in Kolkata airport and in some southeast Asian airport were all very old and terrifyingly shabby looking, and those were international flights!

They keep an invisible cover specifically designed for Indians so that they don't stay near the aircraft, to keep the air clean.

BD will gain if we are allowed in Indian domestic.
What are you talking about? Why any country should allow any other country the right to serve the former's domestic market? Anyway, BD is not in a position to take any advantage out of this reciprocity because of the fundamental weakness of our flag carrier BIMAN. The private airlines are still very weak. So, the offer has no merit to BD.

Read my entire post. If we allow open sky how we going to loose most of the passenger due to Indian carriers advantage in domestic access. India is a huge country with 100s of routes which cant be entertained by BD carrier without domestic market access.

Indians are small-minded, but are very nationalist. So, better not to count on their domestic passengers. Not only should we refuse an open sky treaty, we should also restrict Indian air presence in our land.
