After getting the shock and surprise of their life, the Indians came up with an absurd excuse by waving to the media a wreckage piece of said to be from an AIM-120C AMRAAM Missile with claims that it was fired from a PAF F-16. Since Pakistani authorities said that no F-16s wetre used in the operation, so in hindsight the Indians were crying to the Americans that your weapons in Pakistani hands are killing us. Although it's not difficult to stencil the markings on any piece of wreckage and the serial number leads it to a batch supplied to Taiwan with whom Pakistan has no diplomatic relations, none the less, PAF does have these missiles in it's armoury. It's also ironic that a weapon travelling over Mach-3 which disintegrates upon impact still had such a part intact and that too where all the details are apparent.
However, lets assume this is indeed a piece from an AMRAAM fired by a PAF F-16 at an Indian target, we know one Indian MiG-21 went down inside Pakistan so this piece couldn't have been from that and was recovered from Indian side of LOC, which can only mean that the victim of the said missile also went down on the Indian side. Although there are several eyewitnesses who claim to have seen at least two aircraft going down, one on each side of the LOC, Indian authorities, however, haphazardly have so far admitted to losing just one MiG-21 which they said went down in Pakistan. So the question remains, where did the Indians recovered the wreckage of the missile. It's obviously an air to air weapon so hitting some ground target with it is out of question. Which only leaves the possibility that whatever this missile struck, it went down on the Indian side. Now was that the helicopter which same day crashed some where in IOK or was it something more prized which the Indians feel too embarrassed to disclose.
So in essence by waving this piece of missile wreckage, the Indians have thus shot themselves in the foot by revealing a second loss....what it was is anyone's guess.

All I have deducted from these events is that IAF is a very unprofessional force with its officers having very low confidence and I had surely Over-estimated them.

ISPR claims 2 pilots held.... then ISPR U turn..only 1 pilot captured and 1 image released.... why if both fell on the same place then release only 1 ?? why ?? and whats the need of anothe statement issue of 1 pillt to rectify ?? At that time it was Abhi who was captured. Turns out it was also Abhi in the CMH. Janab in trying to be the first, DGISPR made mistakes. You should also know Pakistanis were angry with his payload comment which made no sense. We were debating what kind of payload. Majority thought that perhaps the pilots had jettisoned their fuel tanks. Don't be fooled, Pakistan made mistakes in reporting not maliciously but unintentionally. I don't know why Indians are so hellbent on utterly stupid displays of showing evidence of an F-16 downing and also of the '350 terrorists' killed in buildings inside Pakistan? It's okay to have occasional setbacks in skirmishes. People and nation learn from such experiences.

An F16 falling inside Pakistani border or a building destroyed with hundreds of dead people would be incidents which could not be hidden even for a few hours. Pakistani Kashmir and Mansehra District are not some remote/vacant places like Deosai Plateau. It would be impossible to hush the locals. It would be impossible to cordon-off those areas.

But now I know that not only Indian media is shallow and war-mongering (with few exceptions like The Hindu newspaper) but senior Indian military leadership has no shame either: They should not have provided the fake evidence of the F16 shot down by them. Trust me: Not one country is buying their claims.

So now we have Modi riding a tiger. He could launch missiles targeting Pak installations. But that would be an open act of war. And if he doesn't do anything major then his electoral success is less assured.

Maybe Pakistan should just provide India with pieces of some old crashed F16 as proof to defuse the situation!

The part shown by Indian authorities is legit, along with actuator that they showed.
The Contract number printed on same is also accurate, under same contract number many other sub contracts where given to Raytheon.
In 2010 only Pakistan and USA got deliveries under the given contract. The sub contract of 218 for Taiwan never got signed by Taiwan and hence the deal didn't materialized although USA has approved the sale of same.

How India got it, thats what Pakistan now need to answer. Which denied any active participation of F16. Americans will always come to know from logs. Infact they will also have the data about target. So lets see what they share. Given the Trump tweets, it felt that they have details already but not disclosing so that tension de escalates.

I ve noted other thing... Bloody nice quality paint used by Americans... The missile case is all screwed up after blast but paint is still in original form...blast proof painting or may be it is just me
